An arrest has been made in connection with a string of robberies that took place over the weekend of November 7th + 8th, 2025 in Hoboken. Hoboken Police today announced the arrest of a 23-year-old Hoboken resident in connection with the crimes, and thanked the community and local businesses that shared surveillance footage of the suspect. The Crimes
The Hoboken Police Department shared via its social media pages on November 7th that it was investigating two robberies that were committed between 12:20AM and 1AM on Saturday, November 8th.
The first incident took place on the 100 block of Hudson Street, where the victim reported that a dark skinned male, wearing a white jacket, grabbed her purse and ran off.
The second incident took place in the area of 7th and Garden Streets, where the victim described the actor as a tall, thin dark dark-skinned male, wearing black clothing and a white baseball cap, carrying a backpack. The actor grabbed the victim’s purse and ran off.
A message was sent to the Stevens Institute community on November 10th. The message shared that a suspect involved in one of the robberies fled to the Stevens Campus, where he was observed breaking a lock that was securing a scooter to a bike rack. He then used the scooter to depart the area, going west on 6th Street toward Washington Street. Stevens students were encouraged to be vigilant about their physical safety and to secure their belongings.
On Thursday, November 11th, 2025, the Hoboken Police Department released three still images showing someone whom they believe to be a suspect in the robberies. HPD says that they believe that all three images show the same individual.
The Arrest
Per a statement shared by the Hoboken Police Department (HPD), Chief Steven Aguiar announced the arrest of 23-year-old Androkle Batistasoriano of Hoboken, for two robberies and two thefts.
“On Nov. 7, 2025, at approximately 11:50 p.m., Hoboken Police responded to the 50 block of Garden Street, where a victim reported her purse had been stolen after she dropped it. At approximately 12:30 a.m., on Nov. 8, officers responded to the area of First and Hudson Streets, where a man ran up behind a woman, grabbed her purse, and fled before stealing a scooter on the Stevens Institute of Technology campus. About 10 minutes later, a third incident was reported on the 900 block of Garden Street, where a man matching the previous descriptions, grabbed another woman’s purse, and ran off. No serious injuries were reported.
An investigation, led by Det. Jesse Castellano and Police Officer Jason Montalvo, with assistance from additional Detective Bureau personnel, identified Batistasoriano as the suspect. On Nov. 25, he was located and arrested on the 800 block of Hudson Street. Batistasoriano was transported to Hoboken Police Headquarters and charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of theft. After being processed, he was taken to the Hudson County Correctional Facility.
“The hard work and persistence of our dedicated team led to a swift arrest and helped take a dangerous individual, targeting women late at night, off the streets,” said Chief Aguiar. “I am grateful for the teamwork that helped to close this case quickly, and safely.”
