There’s always something going on in Hoboken + Jersey City and Saturday, September, 9th is no exception. Save the date because the 12th Annual All About Downtown Street Fair is back. This family-friendly festival brings tons of food vendors, musicians, kiddie rides, and more to the Grove PATH Plaza + Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall in Jersey City. All About Downtown Street Fair Activities + Attractions

The All About Downtown Street Fair is the premier event in downtown Jersey City. It’s free to attend and will take place in the Grove PATH Plaza + Newark Avenue Pedestrian Mall (between Grove Street and Coles Street) on Saturday, September 9th from 12:00PM-8:00PM rain or shine.

The HDSID hosted the first All About Downtown Street Fair in 2011 and the annual event has grown every year since. In recent years, more than 40,000 people and 300 local vendors, creators, and musicians have come to the pedestrian plaza for a full day of family-friendly fun. Here’s what you can expect this year:

Snap Fitness JC

Music: Enjoy live music performances booked by Dancing Tony throughout the day, and Salsa on Grove throughout the evening,  adding to the festive atmosphere and providing entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Kiddie Rides: There will be several rides, party characters, and activities specifically designed for children, ensuring a great time for the little ones.

Hobbs Inc

Food: Indulge in an array of delicious food options from local vendors and restaurants from across Jersey City. From savory to sweet, there’s bound to be something for every palate.

Biergartens: Relax and unwind in the biergartens, hosted by Keyhole Bar, and Left Bank Burger Bar, where you can savor a selection of beverages while taking in the lively surroundings.

Vendors: Explore a variety of local vendors with unique products, crafts, and merchandise. It’s a great opportunity to discover interesting items and support local businesses.

AXIS School of Dance

Food Trucks: Food trucks will provide even more culinary options, allowing you to sample a wide range of flavors and cuisines.

Community Spirit: The street fair fosters a sense of community and camaraderie as people come together to enjoy the festivities and celebrate local culture.

Outdoor Experience: The street fair provides a chance to enjoy the outdoors, soak up the atmosphere, and appreciate the vibrant energy of the event, rain or shine!

Local vendors highlighting some of the best food + businesses in Jersey City is what makes the All About Downtown Street Fair so memorable. This year attendees can expect a great mix of returning and new vendors, flavors, and shopping!

Here’s a sneak peek at just a few of the returning vendors you’ll see on September 9th:

Left Bank Burger Bar Amazing burger bar, which hosts one one of the popular biergartens, and reggae in the streets.

The Orthopedic Health Center — Physical therapy and massages.

Bricklane Curry House — British Indian flavors and curry.

Skinners Loft — Popular American restaurant.

Cafe Madeline — French bakery.

Doggy Dots — Local artist who hand-dots pet portraits.

This year, HDSID has sold out with 300+ unique businesses. If you’ve missed out on vending at this year’s street fair, you can keep an eye out for the 2024 application, which will be released in November.

About The Historic District Special Improvement District

The Historic Downtown Special Improvement District (HDSID) is a public-private partnership, 501(C) through which property and business owners have a direct impact on Historic Downtown Jersey City neighborhoods and their development.

HDSID works with local businesses, property owners, and neighborhood associations in conjunction with the City government to promote the area, improve the services provided, and undertake any and all activity to make Historic Downtown Jersey City a better place to live, work and visit.
