Chances are you’ve already spotted one of 301 Collective’s hilarious billboards around Jersey City. Any store that advertises itself as “800 Square Feet Of Not Target” is worth a visit. With Jersey City’s downtown scene on the rise like never before, several new businesses are finding their forever homes, including 301 Collective located at 301 First Street. Keep reading to learn more about Jersey City’s newest go-to boutique.

How It Started

Snap Fitness JC

Jersey City locals Marisa Corrado and Jordan Pease are neighbors turned friends who decided to open 301 Collective in late 2023. They noticed a gap in the retail market in Downtown Jersey City and thought that there weren’t enough places to purchase gifts, home decor, or small items to easily carry home.

With Marisa’s background in fashion and running her online store Nouveau + Vintage, mixed with Jordan’s love for home furnishings and his online store DISO HOME, they decided to merge their two passions to create 301 Collective. As founders Marisa and Jordan simply stated on the store’s website: “We hated our jobs, so we opened a store!” Their friendship, sense of humor, and impeccable taste presented them with the perfect opportunity to bring a one-of-a-kind boutique to Jersey City and share their hand-selected products with the community; making 301 Collective more than just a standard boutique. Now their thoughtfully curated shops are joined as one and open to the public.

About 301 Collective

Throughout 301 Collective there is a vast selection of pieces from Marisa’s business, Nouveau + Vintage, a mid-high-level collection of both modern and vintage designs. Inside the store are eye-catching racks of apparel for both women and children along with one-of-a-kind statement jewelry, bags, and other rare accessories. Marisa’s passion for fashion shines bright among the colorful shelves at 301 Collective. She says, “We are not a retail museum, we want people to interact with the merchandise!” and encourages others to explore their personal style with her carefully chosen pieces.

The fashionable flare at 301 Collective doesn’t stop at clothing, Jordan’s business DISO HOME is the ideal collection for lovers of trending interior design and home decor. DISO HOME pieces evoke the feeling of a “curated paradise” with premium designs at affordable prices. From kitchen tools and glassware to ceramic goods, pillows, and other accents, these items have been sourced from all over the world thanks to Jordan’s keen eye. With items from Morocco, Turkey, Portugal, Los Angeles, and beyond, Jordan says “Coming in here should feel like a vacation!” Jordan also says that so far Hand Poured Candles have been one of the most popular items at 301 Collective. They are flying off the shelves thanks to the amazing scents and high-quality ingredients.

HG Insider Tip: You may have noticed that prior to 301 Collective moving in, 301 First Street was once home to beloved JC Salon LaKoet + Co. which has recently moved to 160 Newark Avenue, but LaKoet will still be bringing some beauty magic to this space (hence the signage outside of the store). Founder Kitty Varco is launching LaKoet Beauty Bar where locals can take an apothecary-style class to create handmade hair, body, and beauty products. Classes are expected to start in February. Stay tuned for more from this new addition and click here for upcoming class availability.
