NYTimes Shoutout:
– Hoboken gets a MAJ mention from the NYTimes {in the form of a lengthy article}, showcasing its popularity among young families leaving Manhattan and Brooklyn for more space and greener pastures. Read the full article here.
Fire at 918 Willow:
– A fire at 918 Willow Avenue displaced 15 residents and affected local grub shop D’s Soul Full Cafe. So glad that our emergency response teams helped keep everyone safe! Hoping for a speedy recovery to the building to get the residents back home quickly.
Helmer’s Closes:
– Long-time business Helmers is closed its doors for good after 80 years on December 31st– originally opened in 1936. So sad.
Flower Shop at 7th & Wash:
– Unique Flowers is a new flower arrangement shop opening in place of the massage parlor near 7th and Washington.
Rumors, Rumors:
– Lululemon Athletica is set to come to Hoboken {date TBD}. It appears they are taking over the hardware store that closed downtown on Washington Street. All talk til we see some action!
Home Decor Help:
– J. Patryce Interior Decorators just opened at the corner of 500 and Garden. Going to check it out soon…will keep you posted!
DKM Cosmetics Re-Opens:
After some renovations, Dina’s Kiss and Make-up {now a full-service salon} has finally re-opened for business. Dina’s shop now does makeup, hair, manicures, and airbrush spray tans. One stop shop!
The Hoboken Girl Pizza Pie:
After hearing that HobokenGirl.com thinks Tony Boloney’s had the best pizza of 2014, they made a pizza pie named after us! We have yet to try it, so if you swing by and order it, make sure to Instagram/Tweet us how it is! {@HobokenGirlBlog}. We’re honored!!
