Women Rising Volunteer Recap + Upcoming Hoboken Girl Helps Planning Meeting

Written by:

We hosted our inaugural Hoboken Girl Helps volunteering event at Women Rising {a local Jersey City organization serving women and their families} last month. 10+ volunteers, as part of our first Hoboken Girl Helps event, made over the children’s room at the women’s shelter.

This was the before photo of the room:

There was also a “donation ticket” for those who weren’t able attend but wanted to support the cause with their generosity.

Here are some of the during and after photos:

^Finished product!

A special ‘thank you’ to our donors for this project who enabled us to buy over $450 in supplies for the children’s room from their generosity:

– Michele Lehman

– Neeta King

– Noel Doh

– Tiffany Pinero

– Casey Reppetti

It was so fun going to Target with a budget {that we exceeded with some HG funds and buy things for the kiddies!}. Thank you to CSBK and Aaraa Accessories for hosting your space as donation collection spots as well.

Lastly, a major ‘thank you’ to our volunteers, who spent the day painting and cleaning the room:

– Whitney Pojednic

– Lauren Amendolara

– Tess Birch

– Kate Thompson

– Himali Arora

– Jillian Hernandez

– Kelly Diehl

– Mairead Rice

– Lyndsey Butler

– Vanessa Mahepatre

– Tracy Varites

– Katie McGeehin

A little thank you note from the kids the director sent us:

If you’re interested in getting involved, we’re having a volunteer planning meeting for those who would like to lead and plan one of our monthly volunteer projects.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 29th at 7:30PM-8:30PM
