As the temperature begins to drop, the need for warm clothes, especially for those in need, rises considerably. There are a number of organizations and shelters across Hudson County that will accept coats for donation this season as well as pop-up coat drives taking place. Read on to find out where to donate a coat in Hudson County to keep our community warm this winter.

The Hoboken Shelter | 300 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken
Serving 450 meals daily, and sheltering 50 people nightly, The Hoboken Shelter is on a mission to end homelessness in the community one person at a time. The Hoboken Shelter welcomes donations of food, clothing, and other items to meet the basic needs of its guests. Coats are accepted all year round.

With the belief that a little help from locals can go a long way in helping the community, volunteers are accepting winter wear, such as thermals, winter hats, socks, and toiletry items through January 1st, to be donated to the Hoboken Shelter.

Coat Drive | 621 Washington Street, Hoboken
Haven Savings Bank is collecting coats to later donate to those in need.
Drop off details: Monday – Friday 9AM – 4PM; Saturday 9AM -1PM

Jersey Cares Coat Drive | Jersey City
Jersey Cares collects more than 25,000 coats each year. These coats are then handed over to non-profit partners who distribute them to people in need. The organization accepts new and/or gently used coats for adults and children. To make it even easier to contribute, Jersey Cares has an option for supporters to purchase and donate a coat virtually.
If you have less than 10 coats to donate, donations will be accepted through December 17th.

Winter Coat Drive | 561 Hudson Avenue, Weehawken
Finders Keepers boutique located at 561 Hudson Avenue in Weehawken and NB Earth Talks have organized a winter coat drive through December 20th, where organizers will accept new or gently used coats, hats, gloves & scarves.
Drop off details: Thursday – Saturday 3PM – 7PM
Coat Drive | Union City
With the goal of keeping students warm this winter, the City of Union City has organized a coat drive in collaboration with all the city public schools. This drive will run through January 14th, where neighbors can donate coats, gloves, scarves, socks, hats, and sweaters of all sizes.
Notes: Collection boxes will be at the entrance of the schools.
