The History of W. Kodak Jewelers

Kodak Jewelers was founded by Woody Kodak back in the 1970s when he started selling jewelry along the boardwalks of Atlantic City. The second generation of Kodaks, Brad and Creighton, felt that something was missing in their beloved city of Hoboken — a luxury jeweler. They wanted the community to have direct access to the highest quality jewelry brands, so they decided to open a luxury jewelry boutique in downtown Hoboken at 60 Newark Street more than 10 years ago before expanding to the flagship store uptown at 1123 Hudson Street.

Kodak Jewelers has an unmatched reputation for service, quality, and expertise. The attention to detail, exceptional service, and large selection gives customers an experience they can’t get anywhere else. The knowledgeable team makes it a priority to put clients’ best interests in mind, offering only the highest quality jewelry and services.

Services Offered at W. Kodak Jewelers

The team at W. Kodak is made up of only the most highly-trained and experienced jewelry professionals. The stores provide many state-of-the-art services, including:

  • Watch repair
  • Ring spa
  • Insurance appraisals
  • Engraving services
  • Jewelry appraisals
  • Custom designs
  • Buy/Trade options
  • Jewelry + watch consultations

As authorized dealers, the stores use original parts in jewelry and watch repair, including watch movement parts, straps, and dials. The jewelers and watchmakers have impeccable attention to detail, going as far as to matching replacement diamonds when necessary.

If you’re shopping for a diamond, the GIA {The Gemological Institute of America}-educated team will consult with you to find the best diamond to fit your exact needs — whether it’s a lot of bling, a classic, subtle look or a unique custom piece. W. Kodak has thousands of GIA graded diamonds, so you’ll find something that fits your style and budget while maintaining the best value.

Kristin, a W. Kodak employee told Hoboken Girl,What makes my job rewarding are the happy smiles and appreciative words I get from my clients when I’ve helped turn their ideas into a reality, whether it be a dream custom engagement ring, self-purchase or milestone gift.”

The stores always have the latest trends in fine jewelry and diamonds, including styles from top designers, such as Tacori, Henri Daussi, Gabrielle & Co, and Roberto Coin. You’ll also find a wide selection of luxury Swiss timepieces, including Hublot, Cartier, Breitling, Tudor, Omega, IWC, Tag Heuer, and more.

How to Shop

There are a few ways to shop right now, and all will maintain social distancing rules and ensure the safety of staff and customers. W. Kodak has thousands of items on the website to choose from and the team is fulfilling orders daily. Virtual appointments are also an option so that you can shop, view products, and ask questions in real-time with a knowledgeable associate.
