The Hoboken Girl Team 
Union Hall, the longtime bar and restaurant located at 306 Sinatra Drive in Hoboken, has officially closed after 10 years in business. Owner Joseph San Phillipe confirmed the closure exclusively with The Hoboken Girl, with the restaurant’s final day of service having taken place on April 26th.
The waterfront spot first opened in 2015 and was one the larger bar/restaurant spaces in Hoboken. The closure marks another shift in Hoboken’s restaurant scene, particularly along the downtown waterfront area, which has seen House of Que’s closure only a year prior. Previously in the UH space was decade-long tenant Trinity Bar, which was open for 11 years in the same space.
Joe shared with The Hoboken Girl that he was going to be focusing his efforts on Brass Rail, where he’s been owner for 21 years this year.
According to local reports, the owners behind Metropolis are planning to take over the Union Hall space with a new concept. Metropolis opened in downtown Hoboken in 2023, transforming the former Dubliner space into a restaurant and cocktail destination with several floors (including the rooftop of course!).
While details about the new waterfront project have not yet been fully released, the upcoming addition is expected to bring another hospitality concept to Sinatra Drive.
