Rainy day {or, should we say week} blues got you down? Sulk, no more — we have a ton of weekend events going on in the Mile Square + Jersey City to make up for it. Treat yourself to some shopping {okay fine, lots of shopping}, take part in some Hoboken volunteer opportunities, comedy shows, crystal readings + more! Here’s what’s going down:

Upcoming Featured Event:

Groove On Grove at Grove Street Path Plaza: Every Wednesday in JC {from May – September} from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Free concerts every Wednesday evening? Sounds, quite literally, like music to our ears: Jersey City is celebrating 10 years of Groove on Grove starting in May {which is only a few days away}, so don’t miss out on weekly live music at the Grove Street Path Plaza this summer – you’re welcome.

Upcoming Featured Event:

Farmer’s Market at Grove Street Path Plaza: Every Monday + Thursday {from May – December} from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

For the best fresh produce +  vendors around, you’ll definitely want to check out the Farmer’s Market at Grove Street Path Plaza as well – starting in May {all the way up until December}, Mondays + Thursdays will be the days to shop some of the best selections of fruits + veggies from local farms.

Upcoming Featured Event:

Lutze Biergarten’s Opening Cinco de Mayo Party: Friday, May 5th — Ribbon Cutting at 3:30 PM, Celebration from 5:00 PM – Midnight

The Hudson River Waterfront is about to get even better. On May 5, the Lutze Biergarten will open in Jersey City at Harborside located at 15 Second Street. Their opening Cinco De Mayo Celebration will include over 100 vendors, food trucks, live music, games, giveaways, and fireworks {so fun!}. Mack-Cali, responsible for opening the biergarten, plans to donate a substantial portion of profits to local charities and political causes that benefit Jersey City. The ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening on May 5 will take place at 3:30PM and the celebration will last from 5:00PM-midnight. Make sure to mark your calendars!

We have over 1000 DRESSES that are new and gently-used, as well as NEW makeup, jewelry, and other accessories to purchase for $5 and under. Cash only {all of the money raised at the event will go to the nonprofit org, Suits for Success}. Please email [email protected] with any questions. See you at the Hoboken High School gym – bring a shopping bag {parents welcome with students also}!

Halifax Gives Back: Every day during breakfast, lunch + dinner

Hey, Halifax diners — lots of good stuff going on down at the restaurant at The W. The Hoboken restaurant’s new Halifax Give Back initiative is here to save you some moola, and it’s as easy-peasy as saying the code word “Kingfisher.” Yup, you read that right: get the sales tax of your breakfast, lunch, or dinner meal {excluding brunch} comped simply by dropping the name of the Halifax logo {pictured above} the Kingfisher. Even better, the promotion is in effect daily — and just in time: Halifax’s outdoor seating {which overlooks the Hudson River + NYC} officially opens on Thursday. Dinner with a view? We think so. Happy dining!
