New Dinner Menu at The District
The new dining destination has already become a favorite for post-work happy hours + chic dinners. The District is a great place to go when you want to impress a date or relax in a NYC-style spot with friends.
The newly launched dinner menu features fresh ingredients and locally sourced poultry + meats from small farms and businesses in Jersey City. Every dish feels like a modern twist on a classic technique.
“Our Chef Cedric and his team have created a menu that is not similar to any other restaurants in the area. Truly a one of a kind experience with the ambiance to match,” says The District team.
The District Double Burger, made with Taylor ham onion jam, scamorza Cheese, + a potato bun is a stand-out on the menu. Other popular dinner dishes include the Dressed Oysters, the Spicy Rigatoni with reduced cream, passato tomato, and Calabrian bread crumb, the Market Fish Crudo with lemon creme fraiche, barrel-aged ponzu, chili crunch, and scallion, and the Half Chicken made with Freebird Farms chicken, blossom honey, and baby carrots.
If you are in the mood for something lighter, try the Little Gem Caesar with black garlic anchovy dressing, brown butter croutons, + parmesan.
“Our salads are truly the best. Our Chef Cedric takes the classics and only uses the freshest and best ingredients. His plating with these salads and all of his dishes are superior and you fall in love with them as soon as they are placed in front of you,” says The District team.
District is a great addition to Jersey City’s Harborside building. This new restaurant is now open + you can make a reservation on Resy or stop by for happy hour Monday to Friday from 4PM-6PM for an innovative cocktail made with fresh juices + premium spirits. The Wicked Halloween Event at The District
District is hosting a “Wicked” Halloween Costume Party on October 31st from 8PM-1AM. Tickets to this 21+ party come with a swag bag, hors d’oeuvres, and a free cocktail upon entry (cheers to that).
The Halloween party will be a night for the (spell) books and you and your friends won’t want to miss out on all of the fun. There will be a DJ, bottle service, and Wicked-themed food and cocktails. If you don’t have a costume yet, it’s time to start thinking about your spooky attire. There’s going to be a costume contest with cash prizes + Prudential Center ticket giveaways throughout the night.
Tickets are available online for The District’s Halloween Costume Party. This is sure to be a wickedly fun night in Jersey City.
District Neighborhood Nights + Other Fun Events
The District team is excited to welcome local Hoboken + Jersey City residents to the new restaurant.
“We want to be your neighborhood spot and get to know each and every one of our guests by name,” Sue Vorcheimer, one of the team members at The District, told The Hoboken Girl.
Hoboken + Jersey City residents will get 20% off dinner during Neighborhood Nights. These special evenings are every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night from 6PM until close. This deal goes until December 1st, so make plans to check out The District soon.
Starting soon, The District will have DJs and live music every Thursday to Saturday. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the good vibes + connect with the welcoming and friendly District community.
District is also a great place to host your own party for up to 300 guests. Keep this new, hip space in mind the next time you are planning a birthday party, bachelorette event, baby shower, or any other special event.

Dear The Local Girl readers and friends,
2024 has felt both like 10 years and at the same time, three months. No matter how we feel about it, though, the chapter is closing — and before it does, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to you. It’s because of you that we are still able to do what we love to do: write, inquire, create community, and occasionally, share memes.
While each year presents its challenges (for us and many others), we remain true to our purpose: to shine a light on the local small-owned businesses, happenings in the area, news, people, organizations, and missions of all industries and backgrounds. We aim to uplift, inform, and encourage our readers to join us in celebrating how special our communities are — all while creating community.
Most media outlets continue to publish over the holidays, but we have taken the decisive stance to pause on our platforms + social media over the last few years. That means you will see a few pre-scheduled fun things go out this next week on social and the site, but that’s it. Our team is getting a full week off, and that includes our social team! We’re all taking a much-needed rest.
Before our OOOs officially go up, a few highlights + core memories from 2024 we're reflecting on:
- Growing our sister site, The Jersey Shore Girl, and launching our newest venture, The Bergen County Girl.
- Breaking down the beauty scene in Hoboken and determining that Hoboken IS the beauty capital of New Jersey (we think so at least — the stats don't lie).
- Covering all of the crazy and fun things that have happened in New Jersey: earthquakes, solar eclipses, sonic booms, PATH closures, celebrity lookalike contests, Jeremy Allen White's coffee tour of Hoboken (IYKYK). The list, truly, goes on.
- Hosted a Hoboken Girl Happy Hour at The Waiting Room in Hoboken to kick off our 2024 Week of Wellness and collect period supplies for our annual drive with The Flow Initiative (for which we collected 30K+(!!) supplies.
- Raised thousands of dollars for local non-profits through our Hoboken Girl Breakfast Sandwich at Alessio's in Hoboken and Jersey City.
- Donated to local animal shelters with our annual Puppy Bowl.
- Published over 2,500 new articles, posted over 3,500 new social media posts, and so much more.
Our out-of-office messages are up, our DMs will have an auto-reply, and we’ll be a bit off the grid this next week. On Monday, January 6th we’ll be back with regular content. Hopefully, this is also the sign you need to know that it’s okay to take a break. It’s so important to recharge. We are all burnt out. Watch that reality show, read that book, clean that closet — whatever makes you feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to start 2025 on a positive note.
