Surreal Creamery, a national Asian-inspired ice cream and bubble tea shop, is coming to Hoboken. The new business will be taking over PromptMD’s former location at 1122 Washington Street. With a similar appeal to Milk + Cream Cereal Bar – think sweet toppings and Instagrammable dessert – Surreal Creamery’s creations are expected to be a hit, especially in the upcoming summer months. Opening In Hoboken

Although Surreal’s new location has yet to be officially announced on its website, Jersey Digs reported the creamery’s plans to open. The outlet noted that the company submitted an application to the Historic Preservation Committee, which was slated to be heard during a meeting that took place on April 3rd.

Per the documentation on the City of Hoboken’s website, the signage will take up the window display and feature a neon and electric LED sign for “Surreal Creamery.” The application was initially submitted in January and appears to be still seeking approval. The next meeting is scheduled for May, so hopefully there will be an update then.

One other Yelp user shared: “Yum…The portions are huge – definitely for sharing! The price point may seem a bit high but the ice cream is a good amount and includes up to 4 toppings. There is a wide variety of toppings. We ordered the taro with boba, Oreos and condensed milk – delicious!”
