In honor of that, Bulova recently unveiled a new collection in ode of the global icon. The design inspiration for the collection stems from the 1950s and 1960s – and, there are design elements to the timepieces that any Sintra fan would recognize and appreciate. The Frank Sinatra collection features an assortment of ten timepieces in a variety of case shapes and designs that are named after some of his biggest hits. Bulova also collaborated with Frank Sinatra School Of The Arts students on a special remake of the classic song “Fly Me To The Moon.”

The city is paying for the project through private donations, said Health and Human Services Director Leo Pellegrini, as reported on NJ.com. It has raised close to $50,000 so far, and the project’s total cost will likely sit between $80,000 and $100,000, he noted.

Sculptor Carolyn D. Palmer is the artist behind the statue. She has created similar statues of other historical and pop culture figures like Eleanor Roosevelt and Lucielle Ball. When thinking about Sinatra’s likeness, she told NJ.com “Frank was known to have a cocktail in his hand or a cigarette, and I didn’t want to have that so I have him tipping his hat.”
