Club Pilates started in 2007 and quickly expanded to studios around the world {as well as Hoboken, lucky for us!}. The method sticks to Joseph Pilates’ original Reformer-based Contrology Method but is modernized with group practice and expanded state-of-the-art equipment. 

“We believe that Pilates is the path to a fuller, more satisfying physical existence,” Emese Horvath, owner of Club Pilates Hoboken, told us. “We believe that being in control of your body helps you to be in control of your life. And best of all, we believe that you can start anytime.”

Club Pilates instructors are also fully certified, highly trained, and skilled. They go through hundreds of hours of training to meet teacher standards in order to provide the highest quality Pilates workouts. 

About Emese

Emese Horvath started Club Pilates Hoboken after becoming a mom and wanting to spend more time with her family. She had been working in finance and felt this was the change she needed. “I wanted to do something different that allowed me to spend more time with my son and also help improve people’s health. I was really excited to have the opportunity to open a Club Pilates studio in my hometown, Hoboken.” Emese also owns Club Pilates West New York and has two locations in the works — Edgewater will be opening this month and Jersey City is coming early 2021.

COVID-19 Safety

Club Pilates Hoboken has implemented quite a few changes to ensure clients’ safety and comfort. You can expect the following COVID-19 prevention measures when visiting:

  • Reduced class sizes: The studio will maintain a new maximum capacity to guarantee 6 feet of distance between members during class.
  • Adjusted studio policies: To accommodate for social distancing as well as increased cleaning procedures, classes are 45 minutes long. All members and staff are required to wear a mask at all times while in the studio, including for workouts.
  • Hands-off corrections: Instructors will coach you on your form using verbal cues and demonstration, instead of using hands-on corrections.
  • Equipment usage and class modifications: To ensure your safety, Club Pilates is limiting equipment use and it will be sanitized and ready for you by your designated reformer. All used props will be placed in a designated bin after class and will be sanitized before the next use.
  • Studio and equipment sanitization: Club Pilates has installed a REME HALO in-duct air purifier system on the HVAC system that kills airborne and surface viruses and bacteria. A plexiglass sneeze guard has been added at the reception desk for safer communication. All equipment and studio surfaces will be cleaned in-between classes as well as daily deep cleanings. Vinyl loops will replace the existing ones to allow for more efficient cleaning and the team is utilizing a UV sanitizer to disinfect porous surfaces.

Free Introductory Workout

The Club Pilates Intro Class is the perfect way to experience Pilates and get to know the studio and instructors. The 30-minute, full-body session will get you familiar with the equipment, the workout, and teach you enough to feel confident going back for more. 

The introductory class gives you the chance to try out an array of specialized equipment, including the Reformer, EXO-Chair, Bosu Ball, and springboards. This low-impact, full-body workout truly tests your core and strength, unlike other more cardio-based workouts.
