What to Wear + Bring

We recommend arriving 15 minutes early to sign in, take a quick tour of the studio, complete a liability waiver, and get prepared for class. Club Pilates Jersey City has Flowater filtered water dispensers, so you can bring a reusable water bottle and a sweat towel — everything else is provided, making the experience super easy.

When it comes to what you should wear, it’s a good idea to opt for breathable, form-fitting clothing. Long hair should be tied back and any dangling accessories should be removed for safety. Club Pilates also requires grip socks to be worn in class (which is for the best — trust us), and the socks are available for purchase at the studio.

Classes + Passes at Club Pilates

Club Pilates provides nine different class types offered at four different levels, so it’s easy to find the class that fits your skill level and your schedule the best. There are classes offered for beginners all the way up to professionals – Level 1, Foundation; Level 1.5, Progression; Level 2, Evolution; and Level 2.5, Mastery.

We know starting a new form of working out can seem intimidating — and luckily, the Intro class is the perfect way to experience pilates and the new Jersey City studio. This 30-minute, full-body session is guided by one of the studio’s talented instructors — each of whom has completed over 500 hours of Comprehensive Pilates training. This session is a great intro to the equipment, the studio, the workout, the staff, and to see if pilates is a good fit for your lifestyle.

If you’re new to pilates it’s best to start with a Level 1 class like the Reformer Flow or Center + Balance classes until you get comfortable with the basics and build up your flexibility.

The Reformer Flow class is a signature, contemporary Reformer class which strengthens and lengthens your entire body while taking balance and coordination skills to the next level. Students in this class can expect to move from the Reformer to the Springboard, chair, mat, and more.

The Center + Balance class helps you recenter your body through stretching, which can be really beneficial for those of us who spend all day hunched over a computer. This class involves light movement and deep stretching, leaving you feeling long, loose, and ready to take on whatever your day holds. A regular stretching routine can help reduce soreness and muscle fatigue, improve performance, decrease risk of injury, and increase blood flow to your muscles.

Once you master the basics, it’s fun to branch out to more intense classes like Cardio Sculpt which is a high-energy, low-impact workout perfect for the cardio junkie, or Suspend, which combines pilates with the effective TRX® suspension training system.

About Club Pilates

The owner of the Jersey City location is Hoboken Mom Emese Horvath, who also owns the Hoboken and West New York Club Pilates locations. In addition to the instructors and front desk staff, the three locations are managed by Gregg Evans, the area manager; Zaidaly Nunez, the sales manager; and the lead instructor, Grace Park.

“The best part of running this business is helping our members look and feel better,” Emese told Hoboken Girl. “We are very excited to be open in Jersey City and serve the local community. I can’t wait to welcome everyone at our beautiful studio and help everyone look and feel better.”

Pilates creates a strong foundation of balance, strength, mobility, and flexibility. Clients leave with more energy, improved posture, expanded range of motion, and in some cases, rehabilitated illness and injury. According to Emese, the most popular packages are the Unlimited membership and 8-pack memberships.

Don’t forget to sign up for a FREE intro class and take advantage of the grand opening deal of 15% OFF the first two months of a membership + a $0 enrollment fee. Now through Sunday, December 11th.
