In Queens, there is a famous Korean BBQ spot, O2, nestled into the neighborhood — attracting hungry diners far and wide to enjoy its sizzling entrées. Over the years, it’s become an absolute staple to its Bayside roots. Owners Sung Hee and Sung Ho Cho opened this unique locale to share the essence of Korean food and culture with New York, serving incredible meats, flavored soju, and colorful Korean entertainment on rows of TVs. But earlier last year, to the delight of the 6th borough and other side of the river, O2 opened its second location in Guttenberg, NJ. And this is how the best BBQ in Queens made its way to Hudson County.

Located in the Galaxy Mall at 7000 Boulevard East in Guttenberg, O2 is a perfect place for birthdays, a get-together with friends and family, or even date night. The restaurant is separated into two spaces — a bar area and an expansive dining room. To get the full experience, be sure to head to the dining room and opt for the all you can eat Korean BBQ. What’s on the Menu

There are 18 different meat options to choose from, all of which get delivered to the table and cooked on a sot-tut-keong, or “lid” {Korea’s traditional cast iron cookware}. From spicy chicken to thin beef brisket, sit back and relax while a staff member periodically flips and rotates each piece until it’s cooked and ready to eat.

While the meat sizzles, start your culinary adventure with pork or vegetable gyoza, beef stew, and spicy fried rice cakes. Each table is also served a family-size bowl of salad to accompany the heavier dishes.

The ambiance is fun and lively. Rows of TVs line the walls and play Korean pop music videos. The music is energetic and light. There are various table sizes, making O2 a great spot for any party size. Flavored soju is $8 and cocktails such as “midnight romance” and “green apple LIT”  range between $9 and $12. Bring a group of friends to celebrate or kick off the weekend — but be sure to make a reservation if stopping in on a Friday or Saturday night.
