Owner Elijah M. Bah immigrated to the US from the West African country of Guinea at the age of 14. He first landed in the Bronx but eventually moved to Brooklyn, where he currently resides today. Elijah started his “career” even before getting his high school diploma and worked in the restaurant industry preparing and serving food, while also charming the community. He was dubbed “The Mayor of Park Slope.”

Elijah spent a decade working in restaurants offering healthy options and learning more about the industry. He wanted to provide healthy, vegetarian, vegan, delicious, and affordable food — so he went on to open Nûrish in 2019.
