One of the most fun things to do during summer is enjoying an outdoor movie under the stars, and Hudson County has that covered with its annual Movies Under the Stars series in Hoboken and Jersey City. These events are going to return this summer 2026, so be sure to have your blanket + picnic dinner ready. City of Hoboken
The City of Hoboken has announced its Movies Under the Stars schedule for summer 2026. Each movie night will feature trivia beginning at 8 PM, with opportunities to win prizes. Movies will begin at 9 PM.
- Wednesday, June 24 at 9PM – The Birdcage at ResilienCity Park. This film will be preceded by Drag Bingo in partnership with the Hoboken Pride Advisory Committee.
- Wednesday, July 8 at 9PM – Bring It On at ResilienCity Park
- Wednesday, July 15 at 9PM – Superman (2025) at Pier A Park
- Wednesday, July 22 at 9PM – Delivered Vacant at ResilienCity Park
- Wednesday, July 29 at 9PM – Hamilton at Pier A Park
Free pizza will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis on June 24, July 15, July 22, and July 29 by sponsor Colavita. Rain dates are scheduled for August 8th and August 12th.

Historic Downtown Jersey City is also starting a “Movies on the Plaza” series, with free movie showings throughout the summer from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM at Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza. Movies will start around 8:00 PM. It is advised to arrive early and bring a chair.
