The weather is getting warmer {minus a few mini March snow storms}, spring is right around the corner, and it’s finally time to break out that hideously green outfit you bought for St. Patrick’s Day last year. But first, make sure you see a live performance in Hudson County this month because you won’t want to miss these artists’ setlists. Read on to find out what live music acts are happening in Hoboken + Jersey City in March 2019:

March 1st — Band of Make Believe at 11:00PM

Vepo Clean

This cover band truly does it all. From The Killers to Fall Out Boy to Ariana Grande and beyond — they perform it. Band of Make Believe has six members and dubs themselves “New Jersey’s premier cover band,” mixing the classics with today’s pop music. March 1st — Scott E. Moore at 10:00PM

An Americana and R+B vibe, Scott E. Moore will perform at the Fox + Crow tonight to debut his newest songs accompanied by Peter Vitalone on the keyboard. The singer-songwriter has previously composed meditation music for Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey. Moore calls his sound “American soul,”  a blend of blues, folk, and R+B. March 1st — Feli Fame, Kosha Dillz, Cook Thugless, Green Knuckle Material at 6:30PM

Looking for some live hip-hop music tonight? Head over to FM Restaurant Bar and Lounge for four unforgettable performances from popular artists Feli Fame, Kosha Dillz, Cook Thugless, and Green Knuckle Material. Doors open at 6:30PM and tickets are $12. See more information here.

March 2nd — LepreCON 2019 All Day

If you’re one of the brave people participating in Hoboken’s St. Patrick’s Day bar crawl, be sure to stop by Willie McBride’s. During the day, artists GoldnBrown and Derek Dempsey are performing during the day. Throw it back to the decade of pop-punk and low-rise jeans at night with ’90s tribute band, Nine Deeez Nite. March 2nd — Joy on Fire at 10:00PM

Punk jazz trio Joy on Fire will perform tomorrow at the Fox and Crow, bringing their Led Zeppelin-meets-Coltrane sound to Jersey City. With roots in Baltimore, the three members mix jazz and rock ‘n’ roll playing instruments including the saxophone, bass guitar, and drums. March 2nd — Fish House Road + Cousin Earth at 8:00PM

FM will host rock band Fish House Road and the eclectic musicians in Cousin Earth tomorrow because “those who jam big with tiny instruments.” Doors open at 8:00PM and there is a $10 cover. See more information and tour dates here.

March 5th — Backroom Broadsides at 7:30PM

Pull together your best slam poetry pieces for the Backroom Broadsides event in the Heights on Tuesday, March 5th at Fox + Crow. It’s a new spoken word series presented by James Ruggia + the Riverview Neighborhood Association, a non-profit organization to improve the JC community. The open mic starts at 8:00PM, but the parlor room opens at 7:30PM. You can check out more information here.

March 8th — Brian Kirk and the Jirks at 11:00PM

They’re back — Brian Kirk and the Jirks have been covering songs on the East Coast since the early 1990s with Brian and eight band members. The relationship Brian has with his audience is irreplaceable and Hoboken is lucky to host these talented artists every month. See more information here.

March 8th — Ted Chubb Group at 10:00PM

Jazz artist Ted Chubb and his band will perform at the Fox and Crow next weekend. Chubb has previously played with other jazz artists including Wallace Roney, Christian McBride, and Winard Harper. He currently works with the nationally recognized music education program, Jazz House Kids. For more information about the event and more tour dates, head here.

March 8th — J Boog at 8:00PM

Jam to some reggae music next Friday with J Boog at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City. Having toured all over the world, the singer helped pave the way for many Polynesian singers with the help of George “Fiji” Veikoso, his fellow island artist. Doors for the event open at 7:30PM and tickets range from $20 to $75, depending on seating. Check it out here.

March 9th — The Benjamins at 11:00PM

It wouldn’t be a complete month of live music without The Benjamins — a band that tours country-wide and has been featured on countless radio stations and TV channels. Join them for an intimate concert and an unforgettable performance at Willie McBride’s at 11:00PM. For more information, head here.

March 9th — The Skullers at 10:00PM (see info in email)

Witness an album in the making and head over to the Fox + Crow in Jersey City to watch rock band The Skullers perform next Saturday. They’re asking fans to help them record a live EP and they’ll debut some of their newest songs and covers. Lead singer Jack Skull has been recognized by Songmasters and the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame. March 9th — Afrofest 2019: New Jersey at 9:00PM

The world’s largest Afro-Caribbean festival tour Afrofest will hit the stage at White Eagle Hall next Saturday for amazing live performances, DJ’s, and some celebrity guest appearances. This event is a celebration of African culture with music that will make you want to get up and move. The show begins at 9:00PM and tickets range from $10 to $40. For more information, head here.

March 14th — James Calleo: Second Thursday Residency at 8:00PM

Previous Hoboken Guy of the Week and singer + songwriter James Calleo will be performing at Fox + Crow again this month as part of his 2019 residency with the bar. In addition to this show, Calleo is also performing at the Elysian Café on the 9th and 22nd, Finnegan’s on the 29th, and plenty more local venues in New Jersey and New York. March 15th — The Nerds at 9:00PM

Another crowd favorite and no stranger to this venue is back in town at Willie McBride’s. The Nerds are another great on the list of New Jersey cover bands. Bringing back old school hits as well as some new jams. Don’t miss them. For more information, head here.

March 15th — Dead Swords at 8:30PM

New metal band Dead Swords will perform at White Eagle Hall on March 15th to showcase their debut album, “Enders.” Alex Rosamila and Corey Perez, both originally in other bands, describe their sound as a soothing kind of black metal. March 16th — LifeSpeed at 11:00PM

NJ cover band LifeSpeed is a five-man band that’s been playing together since 2001, giving the crowd their all during each performance. If you’ve been to Tuesdays at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, you’ve seen their talent. Check them out at Willie McBride’s tomorrow at 11:00PM and don’t worry, they’ll be back next month too. March 16th — The Bouncing Souls at 7:00PM

Four-man punk rock band The Bouncing Souls are performing on Saturday, March 16th at White Eagle Hall. The doors open at 6:00PM and tickets are sold out. Although the show is sold out, you can head here for more of their tour dates.

March 17th — St. Patrick’s Day All Day

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with live, authentic Irish music all day long at Wilie McBride’s. The Irish-inspired pub will also serve corned beef and cabbage to guests the entire day. For more information, head here.

March 17th — Mike Gordon at 8:00PM

Bassist and co-founder of Phish Mike Gordon will perform at White Eagle Hall on St. Patrick’s Day in support of his new album OGOGO. You can even join the pre-party at FM Restaurant Bar and Lounge at 5:00PM. Doors for the show open at 7:00PM and tickets range from $30 to $35. Check out the concert here.

March 21st — Spaghetti Sessions Songwriter Showcase at 8:00PM

The Fox + Crow has hosted a monthly workshop for songwriters in downtown Jersey City since 2011 and this event will showcase those artists. Discover new music, eat a great meal, and even immerse yourself in this impressive community. See more information here.

March 22nd — B Street at 9:00PM

You don’t want to miss the original Bruce Springsteen cover band next weekend at Willie McBride’s. The group was formed in Asbury Park in 1980 and they regularly perform Springsteen’s hits as well as his early music. Doors open at 7:30PM and tickets are $15. See more information here.

March 22nd — Mario Padron + Friends at 10:00PM

For an intimate venue and dinner with a show, check out guitarist and singer Mario Padron at Bin14 later this month. As a part of a residency with Bin14, Padron will cover his favorite R+B and pop tracks alongside a different friend and artist each month. In April, his guest at Bin14 will be former The Voice contestant — Troy Ramey. For more details about the event, head here.

March 23rd — The Event Horizon at 11:00PM

Try not to lose your voice because The Event Horizon knows not only the hits from each decade but from each genre. The band plays songs from 2000’s hip-hop, EDM, ’80s, and country. These five members and their high energy are sure to make your night memorable. See more information here.

March 23rd — Demolition String Band at 10:00PM

Artists Elena Skye and Boo Reiners combine their love of country, rock ‘n’ roll, bluegrass, and mountain music to form the Demolition String Band. They’re performing at the Fox + Crow at the end of the month with only a single microphone, banjo, mandolin, and guitars. For more information about the band and the event, head here.

March 29th — Take Your Shoes Off at 11:00PM

Nope, Willie McBride’s isn’t actually asking you to take your shoes off for this night of live music. It’s all about this throwback band that covers hits from the ‘90’s and 2000s. They often perform at popular Jersey shore bars including the Parker House in Sea Girt. Enjoy a night with this NYC band and no cover! See more information here.

March 30th — The Amish Outlaws at 11:00PM

Straight out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania {at least four of them}, the Amish Outlaws cover songs by Jay Z, Lady Gaga, Elvis Presley, and almost everything on pop culture radio. Their story is exactly what you would think; they left the Amish lifestyle for the real world.
