This time of year is prime sports season — from football to ice hockey to Formula 1. Adding to the excitement: a new immersive sports and cocktail bar recently opened in Jersey City’s Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza. The team behind Dorrian’s Red Hand and other iconic Jersey City spots exclusively shared the news with The Hoboken Girl its plans for Legends FC back in September. Located at 130 Newark Avenue, the new sports bar, featuring live sporting coverage, DJs, fun events, and more, is now open in Chilltown, with a ribbon cutting event set for later this month. About Legends FC
Legends FC is operating in a 2,100-square-foot venue and is a new go-to space for sports enthusiasts, showcasing “not only mainline American Sports…but also International and niche-oriented competitions,” the owners previously shared with The Hoboken Girl.
Patrons can expect an immersive audio and video experience featuring a 24-foot composite LED screen located behind the main bar, as well as coverage of various sporting events, including Formula 1 racing, English Premier League soccer, UFC, Boxing, and Rugby.

To add to the lively ambiance of the space, multiple DJ modules are spread throughout the bar. There is also be an events room featuring a mezzanine and an overflow bar for those looking to host private events or viewing parties.
“The space will be loaded with memorabilia from local and worldwide sources, and we look to partner with local fan clubs for long-term relationships,” the owners said. “If you are a fan of Chivas, or Barcelona FC, or if you want to watch the Wimbledon finals at 8AM over bubbly and scones, we are your place!”
The menu at Legends FC consists of “sports-related regional specialties,” the team previously shared. “We won’t be serving your average Sports Bar fare; instead, think Luxury Box. A typical table might have a Lobster Roll a la Fenway Park, a Philly Roast Pork sandwich with long hots and Broccoli Rabe, and Bronx Bomber Arriancini with Pepperoni and Spicy Vodka dipping sauce.”
Cocktail lovers are also in luck, because this spot serves all kinds of creative drinks. Aiming to “bridge the gap between the typical Beer/Shot Sports Bar stuff and the thoughtful mixology that has flourished in such local venues as Dullboy, The Archer, and South House,” the owners have sourced talent from across the region to craft a truly top-tier drink program.
Legends FC was originally planning to open in mid-September, and it’s now open as of November 2025. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on November 21stat 11:30AM, per a Facebook post.
Behind Legends FC
Behind Legends FC are the savvy business trio Jonathan Castillo, Jeremy Tirpak, and Michael Dorrian. The team runs multiple restaurants in Jersey City, including Irish pub Grace O’Malley’s Whiskey Chapel at 140 Newark Avenue, laid-back dive bar Keyhole Bar at 242 Bay Street, and classic sports bar Irving Public at 1135 Summit Avenue.

Michael Dorrian also owns the iconic bar and restaurant Dorrian’s Red Hand, located at 555 Washington Boulevard, Jersey City. Operating as an outpost of the NYC location, which first opened in the 1960s, Dorrian’s Red Hand is best known for its Laugh Tour comedy show. Hosted by Rich Kiamco, The Laugh Tour features comedians from The Tonight Show, Comedy Central, BBC, America’s Got Talent, and more every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
