Locals looking to get some time on the rink this winter don’t need to travel to Rockefeller Center — Jersey City’s outdoor skating rink, Newport Skates, is officially open for the 2023 season. The Details
Admission to the skating rink is $13, with half-price admission for Newport residents for up to two adults and two children. Tickets must be purchased online prior to visiting, and skate rentals can be purchased with tickets for $7. You can get your tickets here.

The rink is open every day of the week with various hours: Monday – Thursday, the rink is open from 4PM – 9PM; on Saturdays, 11AM – 10PM; on Sundays, 11AM – 7PM.

- November 23rd : 11AM-4PM
- November 24th: 11PM-10PM
- December 22nd-23rd: 11AM-10PM
- Christmas Eve – December 24th: 11AM-4PM
- Christmas – December 25th: 1PM-10PM

- New Years Day – January 1st: 11AM-9PM
- January 16th: 11AM-9PM
- February 20th: 11AM-9PM
This year, the rink is also providing skating lessons for any amateur skaters out there, in partnership with Fireworks Skating Academy. There are group lessons on Satturday + Sunday mornings for $35 per person, plus private lessons + parties available too. Learn more about the skating lessons here.

MOJO Coffee Opening Jersey City Location
As we near the end of 2024, it's time to look ahead to all of the new businesses coming to Hoboken and Jersey City in 2025. From speakeasy-style bars to gelato cafes, locals have a lot of fun spots to look forward to in the new year. One of those businesses is the expansion of local favorite, MOJO Coffee Company — which will expand its Hudson County footprint by opening a new Jersey City location. MOJO currently has two Hoboken locations on Bloomfield Street and Willow Avenue. Read on for what we know so far about MOJO Coffee's expansion to Jersey City, New Jersey.
The Jersey City Location
While the exact location for MOJO Coffee's newest store in Jersey City is yet to be revealed, the team shared with The Hoboken Girl that the new outpost will be located in downtown Jersey City close to the Grove Street PATH station. The MOJO website also lists a new Jersey City location as "coming soon."

"We've been looking for a place in Jersey City for about two years, and finally found a centrally located space that fits the Mojo brand," owner Jess Nisler shared with HG. "We're excited to add to the JC community - we'll be offering our beloved coffee, pastry & specialty drink menu, with an expanded food option that will be made in-house."
This post will be updated with more details as they become available — Jess said that the team is aiming for an early 2025 opening.
About MOJO Coffee Company
MOJO Coffee Company opened its first Mile Square location at 230 Willow Avenue in 2020, and has since expanded to open another storefront at 801 Bloomfield Street. The Jersey City location will mark its third Hudson County location.
Since its inception, MOJO has quickly become a staple for Hoboken locals and coffee lovers. The shop serves all of the classics — cold brew, drip coffee, espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, macchiatos, Americanos, tea, hot cocoa with marshmallows, and more — along with seasonal selections. Currently, MOJO is serving up peppermint mochas, gingerbread lattes, peppermint matchas, Santa's cookie lattes, and campfire cold brews, among other drinks.
