If there’s one place that could universally use resources right now, it’s hospitals. Hospitals across the world, state, and right here in Hudson County are in dire need of supplies + additional resources to help staff members successfully treat + battle COVID-19. With each passing day, it seems as if the virus is becoming omnipresent {even more so than it already is} and that means that our hospitals are in need of additional resources ASAP. So much so, that Hoboken’s Mayor, Ravi Bhalla, even issued an “urgent appeal for additional medical resources.”
Dire news aside, however, there are a number of ways that we can help on both a local and national scale. We’ve rounded up a number of hospital-related resources + causes to contribute to, hopefully, help the greater good. Here’s how you can help:

If you have PPE supplies you’d like to donate, please send them directly to Hoboken’s Office of Emergency Management and they will be distributed to the appropriate recipients {i.e the hospital, first responders, etc}.

Volunteer at the Hospitals COVID-19 Testing Center
Hudson County Regional Hospital is seeking both medical and non-medical volunteers to help at its COVID-19 testing center. Medical volunteers are needed to conduct testing from 9:00AM-6:00PM, training provided. Non-medical volunteers are needed to help work the test-scheduling call center on-site at Hudson Regional Hospital, training provided. Volunteer with the Bergen Mask Task Force
Dedicate some time to volunteering with the Bergen Mask Task Force, which is currently in need of volunteers with sewing skills to make surgical masks for non-critical use at Holy Name Medical Center {718 Teaneck Road, Teaneck}. The task force offers online tutorials on how to sew the masks; a volunteer will do a non-contact pickup from your home to distribute to hospital workers.
