We all know Hudson County is a great place to live, but if you need to get away for the weekend – or longer – we’ve found the best spot nestled in the tree-covered hills of New Hope, Pennsylvania. Located at West 10 Ferry Street, the Logan Inn is the oldest building in New Hope (and just a 1.5 hour drive from Hoboken) and has expanded over the years to meet the demands of its growing community. Owned and operated by the same family for the past 20+ years, owners Jeanne and Frank Cretella have turned the Logan Inn into a must-stay destination for weekend getaways, wedding parties, and summer vacations. Keep reading to learn more about our recent getaway at the Logan Inn and why we’re obsessed with the charming town of New Hope, Pennsylvania.

Why We Love This Inn

What makes the Logan Inn a special experience is the distinct interiors which mix authentic historical charm with a luxurious contemporary design. Timeless textiles in the bedrooms are contrasted with modern bathrooms — which feature the softest, coziest linens. Each room is thoughtfully curated with intricate details in each item, making it a one-of-a-kind stay — from the handwritten welcome note to the Logan Inn stamped espresso cups and double-headed shower, we were in love.

Suites at the inn feature suspended fireplaces, modern soaking tubs, and mixology stations complete with artisanal spirits, house made mixers, and king cube ice blocks.

The on-site restaurant, Ferry + Main is a great spot for lunch, dinner, and night caps. If you visit on the weekend, Sunday brunch is a must-try experience your tastebuds will thank you for. For dinner we highly recommend trying the Berkshire Pork Belly Bao Buns as an appetizer. No matter what you choose, it’s clear that Executive Chef Greg Vassos has a vision, using the freshest of local ingredients. The full-service bar has classic spirits, hand-crafted cocktails, a smart wine list, and local brews to try. Each drink is expertly prepared with a focus on attention to detail.

The History

The Logan Inn was built around 1722 and is the oldest building in New Hope. Originally known as The Ferry Tavern, it was built by New Hope founder John Wells. The name Logan came to the inn about 100 years after it was first licensed and after the ferry had ceased operation.

During a renovation in 1987, this historic landmark was brought back to its original colonial charm. The murals in the bar, uncovered during renovations and painstakingly restored by local artist Illia Barger, are an indication of the great care taken to preserve the history of the inn.

The inn again changed ownership in October of 2000 and underwent several updates that elegantly blended the inn’s colonial charm with modern day luxuries. The current owners, Frank and Jeanne Cretella of Landmark Hospitality, spent summers in New Hope with their family and always dreamed of owning a historic property. In 2015, they purchased the Logan Inn and, following renovations in 2021, have made it the premier destination it is today.

The Landmark Philosophy

Landmark Hospitality features a portfolio of over 10 distinctive venues, boutique hotels, and impeccable restaurants throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Merging their love of culinary arts and architecture with their innate business expertise, Jeanne and Frank Cretella have built Landmark Hospitality from the ground up, with the Logan Inn being one of their most recent additions.

“Countless years of experience have taught us that the ‘wow factor’ is in the details: from innovative menus and handcrafted cocktails to attentive service, this level of effort guarantees each moment is extraordinary,” – told Hoboken Girl.

The Logan Inn is an ideal setting for weddings, corporate events, hotel stays, and destination events. Whether you’re dining at the on-site restaurant, having a cocktail in the cozy Whiskey Lounge, or celebrating one of life’s biggest moments, every moment is carefully planned to exceed your expectations.

“Being able to make memories that last a lifetime, and creating a community together by providing a luxury experience in a beautiful, quaint, and creative town is so rewarding,” — said Landmark Hospitality. “The unique designs in each room, the talented chefs who orchestrate each meal, the incredible food and beverage programs we carefully curate, and the beautiful spaces we have created are all done with the universal goal of making memories for our guests.”
