The season of spring cleaning has arrived in Hudson County, and with it, a community tradition that focuses on cleaning up Hoboken’s public spaces. Locals, businesses, and other community groups are invited to sign up for a day of service in Hoboken on May 16th. The Spring Fling is an annual event dedicated to cleaning up Hoboken through various project sites, from weeding green spaces to painting public benches. Here’s what to know about the annual Spring Fling in Hoboken and how you can get involved.
About Spring Fling
Spring Fling is an annual day of service dedicated to cleaning up Hoboken’s parks and public spaces. It will be the ninth year Hoboken has held this event.
This year, the cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th, from 10AM to 2PM. There will be several cleanup sites across the city. Some of the projects include cleaning parks, weeding, planting, and mulching green spaces, and painting benches and fences.
“Spring Fling is one of Hoboken’s most impactful community-wide days of service, which brings neighbors together to improve the common places we all share,” said Mayor Emily Jabbour in a press release. “From Mama Johnson Field to our waterfront, this event reflects the pride our residents have in their city. Thank you to all those who volunteer, as well as the Hoboken Green Team and Department of Infrastructure staff, for organizing this annual tradition.”
