Hoboken’s Pier C was closed on Sunday, March 23rd for police activity. Parts of nearby Sinatra Park were also closed. According to the Hoboken Police X (formerly Twitter) account, the closure began around 3PM.

Shortly before 4PM, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office shared that a deceased male had been found in the water.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office released the following update:
“The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Hoboken Police Department are investigating the death of a male found deceased in the Hudson River on Sunday, March 23, 2025. At approximately 2:15 p.m., the Hoboken Police Department was notified that a human body was found in the Hudson River near Pier C Park. Responding officers located remains of an adult male, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Homicide Unit was notified and arrived at the scene. The identity of the male has not yet been confirmed by the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for later this week, which is anticipated to determine the male’s identity, as well as the Cause and Manner of Death. Additional information will be made available when the Homicide Unit receives updates from the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.”
