Hoboken Literary Weekend Returns Today, 4/5

Little City Books is set to host its annual literary weekend. Located at 100 Bloomfield Street, the festival will have a diverse lineup of new and seasoned authors stopping by for readings, signings, Q+A, and more for the event, which will take place from April 5th through 7th. Owners Donna Garban and Kate Jacobs have been getting the store ready for both ticket sales, book purchases, and the actual event. The Hoboken Girl caught up with Donna and Kate to learn more about this year’s festival and what attendees can look forward to. This year’s festival will host heavy-hitting, best-selling authors and a comedy show. Some author events are free to register while others require a purchase of tickets. Be sure to check out the list below to learn how to see each author.

Friday, April 5th, 7PM | Tia Williams + Maisy Card

Saturday, April 6th, 11AM | Hayley + John Rocco

This couple is set to chat about all things children’s books books. Through their books, this duo is on a mission to educate the next generation about endangered animals. Register for this free event here.

Saturday, April 6th, 2PM | James Frankie Thomas

Debut author James Frankie Thomas will read from his book, Idlewild. He is a graduate of the City College of New York and the Iowa Writer’s Workshop. Register for this free event here.

 

 

Saturday, April 6th, 4PM | Joyce Carol Oates with Jonathan Santlofer

Joyce Carol Oates is an accomplished and decorated author with awards from the National Book Foundation, the World Fantasy Awards, and more. Her work spans from poetry to fiction to non-fiction. She will read from her new work, Letters to a Biographer. Purchase tickets here.

Saturday, April 6th, 8PM | Little City Laughing

Sunday, April 7th, 11AM | Heroes, Histories, + Ghosties, Oh My!

A panel of acclaimed authors including Soman Chainani, Sayantani DasGupta, Veera Hiranandani, and Raakhee Mirchandani will be in conversation with teen actor Nirvaan Pal. Register for this free event here.

Sunday, April 7th, 2PM | Kim Coleman Foote + Dr. Mariel Buque

Kim Coleman Foote is a New Jersey native author whose work has been honored by The Literary Review, the Missouri Review, the list of The Best American Short Stories 2022, and more. Coleman Hill is her first novel. Register for this free event here.
