For this weeks Hoboken Girl of the Week, we’re happy to introduce you to Dina Racciatti! Dina is a makeup artist, pro airbrush tanner, and hairstylist who owns a salon Dina’s Kiss and Makeup on Newark Street in Hoboken. She also specializes in wedding hair and makeup as well as photoshoot makeovers, and she has “those crazy wrap things” that everyone is talking about {ourselves included}. You may also recognize Dina when she spray tanned the entire Elvis Duran & the Morning Show Crew before their Mexico trip a few months ago {her spray tans are bomb}, and she co-hosted a #HobokenGirlSocial way back when.

A little bit about Dina’s favorite things:

What is your favorite restaurant in Hoboken?

    bin 14 hoboken girl

This question is so unfair! Can I give my top 5?! Bin 14, Biggies, Café Michelina, Precious, & Marty O’Brien’s.

What is your favorite boutique in Hoboken?

I’ve never left Anthology empty-handed. Opening a salon is VERY expensive and their prices help me be a baller on a budget.

What do you love most about Hoboken?

We have accessibility to everything living in Hoboken!

What is your favorite thing to do in Hoboken?

Beautify the residents! Some people think doing hair, makeup, and airbrush tanning is “superficial.” It’s so much more than just about appearances. I have the responsibility and pleasure to make women feel beautiful for some of the most important days of their lives such as weddings, baby showers, newborn photo shoots, birthday parties, etc — confidence is key. This job falls under cosmetology, but I’m also in the business of memories. If I can make people feel absolutely beautiful on an important day, especially when they will be taking lots of photos, they will have increased confidence and they will never forget how great they felt. This was the easiest question you’ve asked!

How long have you lived and/or worked in Hoboken?

I’ve lived here for almost 8 years, and Dina’s Kiss & Makeup will be open 4 years in September! I can’t believe it’s almost 4 years already.

What is your favorite outdoor place to spend time in Hoboken?

P13R. Their drinks are so amazing, and drinking outside while the sun is out always feels strange but good haha.

What is your favorite place to workout in Hoboken?

I walk my dogs all over town… my favorite workout is on the streets & piers with my gals.

Where do you go out with friends in Hoboken?

I go all over. I’ve been a bartender in town for over 5 years and the bar community in this town is great. I go to Green Rock, Marty O’Brien’s, McSwiggans, Mulligans… the list goes on.

What is something you think needs to come to Hoboken?

I’ve always dreamt of an east NJ highway along the water (similar to Manhattan’s West Side Highway) or really any additional options to make traffic better. Imagine another giant highway that made it easier to drive in and out of Hoboken. I think I’ve shed tears trying to get in and out of town on 495 and by 1&9. All of you drivers know exactly what I’m talking about haha! I’ve just proposed a billion dollar project- totally feasible right?!

What else should people know about you?

Most people don’t know that I sell my makeup & skincare line, DKM Cosmetics right here in the salon. I make custom foundation for people which is only $19. Most of the makeup is $13! The line has everything; brushes, sponges, lashes, DIY eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, lip glosses, primers, setting sprays, pigments, and so much more.

Jen is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of HobokenGirl.com. She started the site to discover the wealth of fun things happening in Hoboken and Jersey City and surrounding Hudson County areas. When not planning the next Hoboken Girl event or #HobokenGirlHelps volunteer project, she can usually be found shopping at local boutiques, eating an Insta-worthy meal, walking her French bulldog Pierre + rescue pup Finn, or watching some really bad {but oh-so-good} reality TV and ordering takeout with her husband.
