A Neighborhood Staple on the Hoboken Waterfront

Owner Matthew Shendell created The Ainsworth brand in 2008 with the first restaurant located in Chelsea. The first New Jersey location opened in Hoboken in 2015. Matthew’s restaurant portfolio now consists of the restaurant group Paige Concepts which includes four Ainsworth locations; King’s Cafe in the Lower East Side; Brasserie Saint Marc in the East Village,; and three restaurants located in Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn: Court Street Tavern, Brandon’s Donuts and Giuliana’s Sweet Shoppe.

The goal of The Ainsworth is to remain the neighborhood staple it has become, with playful and comfortable interiors, large open windows for a stunning view of the NYC skyline, and a menu to die for. Guests at The Ainsworth can expect Bottomless Brunch, Happy Hour, exclusive sports events viewing for sports fans, versatile options for private or corporate events, and large outdoor dining facilities perfect for holiday or birthday parties.

What sets The Ainsworth apart from other restaurants is its unrivaled hospitality combined with a fun atmosphere. The Ainsworth makes life’s simple pleasures richer, trendier, and more enjoyable: an after-work cocktail, a refreshing beer, or a well grilled steak. It’s a cheerful, high-energy environment where luxury is defined by savoring every moment with friends, colleagues, and strangers you meet while you’re there.

“We strive to make it a place that’s fun for both guests and for staff. From playful decor, a great playlist, classic food and exciting cocktails, The Ainsworth is all about having a good time with friends,” Events Manager Haylee Kroll told Hoboken Girl. “What makes this job rewarding is seeing the career growth of so many team members who have been with us for years and have become Ainsworth family. I love seeing guests’ faces light up when they take their first bite of something or see a birthday sparkler coming their way.”
