For the last year or two, we’ve been whining about how we absolutely need more healthy options in the mile square. Well, as luck would have it, the juice gods have answered our prayers! Meet Purely Juiced, a locally owned {by several Hoboken residents!} juice bar located at 262 1st Street. We stopped by the new juice joint recently – and of course had to share the scoop.
The interior of Purely Juiced is a pretty routine juice bar setup. The open area in the front is stocked with pre-made drinks, salads, sandwiches, and even desserts {all ingredients used are fresh, organic, and most are even locally-sourced!} and there is also a back area which contains all of the fresh produce and ingredients that go into making their delicious treats ready-to-order.

The menu is pretty extensive for being a small juice bar, but it is subject to change based on organic produce availability. Once they run out for the day, that’s usually it — so go early! Besides their pre-stocked items {which are made fresh in-house daily}, they make juices and other food items to go. The most wonderful part is that EVERYTHING is organic. Major win.
Kale chips…yes please. They make everything they serve, which includes these green bad boys. They also have a ton of samples and items available to taste test, which is nice for those new to the health food/juice scene.
I must say…out of all the juices we tried {there were 5!}, Nirvana was the best. It was creamy yet light, delicious…and the best part: organic and dairy free! These guys know their stuff. They source their organic coconuts from overseas, and so much of what you see is created from a coconut base, which includes coconut pie. Yes, pie! They also have quinoa salads, energy balls, and many other great healthy options that change daily. And their coconut water…don’t even get me started. HEAVENLY.
As you can see, Purely Juiced writes their ingredients with an expo marker on their fridges. I think it’s kind of fun, and really puts the ingredients out there…since a place like this has nothing to hide ingredient-wise. Imagine if Applebees did that? Most people would never eat there again.
Overall, the ambiance of Purely Juiced is cozy, friendly, and you can tell that the owners and workers are passionate about the products and items they are creating. They even house local artists’ work on their wall, and clean with all-organic cleaning products {which they proudly display}. Such a great vibe.
We really can’t say enough great things about Purely Juiced. While their juices aren’t exactly cheap {a small juice is $6 — but really, I’ve seen places that are more expensive}, you know you’re getting quality, organic ingredients, and you’re shopping locally and supporting a wonderful business.
