On the morning of September 19th, 2024, a fire broke out at The Clock Tower Apartments, located at 300 Adams Street in Hoboken. The fire was on the Adams Street side of the building. Per NJ.com, a fire ripped through at least one apartment, and the building was evacuated. No injuries were reported and the fire was under control shortly before 10AM, per Hoboken Councilman Michael Russo. The Hoboken Office of Emergency Management was set up at the Multi-Service Center, located at 124 Grand Street.
Flames were seen shooting out of two windows on one of the upper floors, but by around 9:25AM, those flames seemed to have been knocked down. The Hoboken Fire Department and Hoboken Police Department were on scene, and roads were blocked off.
An AngeLink fundraiser has been set up for Christina Ortiz and her two daughters, a Hoboken family whose apartment and belongings were completely destroyed in the fire.
Somewear in Between, an appointment-only boutique located at 720 Monroe Street Suite E521 in the Monroe Center, will also be donating 20% of all sales made through 9/27 to Christina and her daughters. You can book a shopping experience on the boutique’s Instagram or website, or shop online (ships to all 50 states).

The Clock Tower Apartments have a long history in the Mile Square. The five-story building houses 172 apartments and was once a manufacturing complex. It was converted to housing in 1975, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. The signature clock tower lights up at night, and is visible around the surrounding blocks.
This is a developing story, and we will update this post as more details become available.
