Savory or sweet, crepes are a French delicacy that is difficult to make. Despite our best DIY at home crepe making attempts, some things are just better left to the professionals. Whether indulging in a crepe oozing with Nutella or chocolate with the occasional fruit, or crunching through {one of our favorites} a breakfast crepe filled with ham, egg, and cheese, these light and fluffy pancake-like creations are too good to pass up. Although these delicious treats are hard to find, we’ve rounded up a few spots in the surrounding areas which have both sweet and savory crepes on the menu. Check out these spots if you’re craving a little taste of France in Hudson County.

Hoboken

La Bouche Cafe {207 Washington Street, Hoboken}

Such a quaint little bistro in the heart of Hoboken, escape to the French countryside and enjoy all the best this cuisine-style has to offer. The brunch menu features a selection of rich and sweet crepes such as the Nutella Addict Crepe {Nutella, chocolate sauce, and banana} and the Fruity Crepe {strawberries, bananas, chocolate sauce, and vanilla ice cream} as well as savory crepes such as the mushroom crepe, which comes stuffed with Swiss cheese, ham, mushrooms, and roasted red peppers. We have even made our own crepes — try asking for a ham, egg, and cheese crepe. You won’t be disappointed. Definitely grab a side of Lyonnaise potatoes to make the meal complete.

Vepo Clean

Mango Mango {620 Washington Street}

This traditional Hong Kong-style dessert shop has graced the Mile Square with truly delectable desserts. And while the crepes look a bit different than the traditional French ones we are used to, they are delicious, nonetheless. Stacked and reminiscent of a slice of cake, these crepes are as sweet as can be and are unique in their texture and flavor. Be on the lookout for Green Tea Mille Crepes, Coco Mille Crepes, and Durian Mille Crepes. These labor-intensive creations are a work of art and will absolutely wow anyone who tries one.
