We know that the Mile Square is one of the most pet-friendly cities in our area, and a new spot that will be arriving next week is looking to add to that. Swifty Cats, a woman-owned and feline-exclusive cat grooming spot, is opening at 60 Newark Street 2B on Wednesday, June 25th. Read on for what we know about Swifty Cats’ arrival in Hoboken and what the new grooming space will provide for local cat parents.

Opening in Hoboken
The Swifty Cats team shared with The Hoboken Girl this week that the grooming spot will officially open on Wednesday, June 25th at 60 Newark Street 2B in Hoboken. There will be a ribbon cutting at 11:30AM to celebrate the opening.

About Swifty Cats
Swifty Cats in Hoboken is the first-and-only woman-owned and feline-exclusive CFMG (Certified Feline Master Groomers) service in the Hoboken area. All CFMG’s are certified by the National Cat Groomers Institute.

The spot is run by Kristen Attanucci and John S. Badgley — two Hoboken locals who fell in love after first meeting at a Hoboken Starbucks in 2018. Kristen has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician for 14 years and is one of 120 CFMG’s in the United States. John, a business agility coach and Swifty Cats partner, has been a Hoboken resident for over 30 years. The couple’s cat, Louie, inspired them to create Swifty Cats. The grooming service first came to fruition in 2023, and was previously run out of the Animal Infirmary of Hoboken located on Adams Street.
“Our vision is to improve the lives of cats, educate their owners, build cat communities, and.. to groom Taylor Swift’s cats ;),” Kristen and John told The Hoboken Girl.

Swifty Cats provides a wide variety of cat grooming services for all types of cats — from shorthaired and longhaired cats to Sphynx, Persian, and Himalayan cats. The price of each service varies by type of cat. The full list includes:
- full coat grooming
- comb cut + full coat grooming
- lion cut + full coat grooming
- pelt removal (severe mat removal)
- nail trimming
- mini sanitary shaves
- full sanitary shaves
- tick removal
