There are few things as inviting as the smell of delicious, freshly-brewed coffee. That coupled with the sweet sounds of a vinyl record playing in the background makes for, well, the ultimate, coffee shop experience. Luckily, that’s exactly what you’ll find at Café Vista, Hoboken’s newest coffee shop located at 527 Monroe Street. This new locale pairs vintage vibes and delicious drinks that will certainly keep you coming back for more and is opening within the next few weeks. We got a sneak preview of the space, below:
How Café Vista Came to Be
Balsayat, originally from Istanbul, Turkey, is a local mom and the visionary behind this beautiful new café at 527 Monroe Street, which is immaculately designed and curated. Each piece in the café and each item on the menu has been lovingly picked out by her. Café Vista is truly a labor of her love and hard work. A self-proclaimed lover of all things beautiful, Balsayat’s friends and family always encouraged her to open a café.
“I’ve always enjoyed curating spaces, hosting guests, and creating an experience for them that ties in something for all the senses to be left refreshed and awakened,” she told Hoboken Girl. Café Vista is the result of that combination of passions.

The Menu
Just like the space at this new locale, the menu strikes a harmony of offerings. It consists of a variety of healthy salads, toasts, bakery items, and sweet treats. There is something for everyone to enjoy with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options as well. The coffee and tea menu is extensive and is a coffee connoisseur’s dream come true. The specialty coffees include an incredible traditional Turkish coffee which is a must-try. Beyond the Turkish brew, another amazing caffeinated option is the rose latte — fragrant, delicious, and satisfying.
As for the teas, they are brewed to perfection and served in Mac-Kenzie Child’s tea kettles that transport you to another time and place. There’s something about a decadent tea experience that lends itself to a feeling of luxury. During the quarantine, a favorite menu item has been the Dalgona coffee, with a variety of other iced coffee and beverage options to choose from.
The Details
As any expert curator knows, it’s all about the details. At Café Vista, Balsayat made sure to pay attention to each and every detail to create a unique experience for her guests. She sourced all the serve ware from various vintage stores and she considers these the cafe’s treasure. So much so, they’re stored in a beautiful armoire in the front of the café. An uplifting hand-painted mural is the focal point of the space and it’s only a matter of time before it becomes an Instagram sensation in town. The art is eclectic and guests will find resh flowers + plants in teacups are at every corner. The space is well laid out with plenty of seating along with outdoor seating for up to eight people as well.

Calling Hoboken Home
After exploring several different locations, Café Vista chose Hoboken as home because of the strong community and the need for more café options in the neighborhood. Some of the challenges Balsayat faced while opening the business were balancing being a new mom and entrepreneur all during a global pandemic. Just like every challenge she has faced she figured it out, one step at a time, and Café Vista is {safely} ready to open its doors in a couple of weeks right here in the Mile Square. Café Vista prides itself on high-quality coffee and creating an experience her guests will never forget. A Sufi quote that Balsayat loves to live by is, “do not rest until you turn your dreams into moments,” and she has done exactly that by creating Café Vista.
