A Virtual Dance Party Benefit: DJ Cam LIVE On the Hoboken Girl Instagram at 7:00PM 4/18

Written by:

If you’re hunkering down in your house, you may have noticed that nightly, at 7:00 PM, all of Hoboken and JC have started to cheer for our healthcare workers and frontline responders. We also started a playlist that we’re playing a song nightly, but on Saturday nights, we have a very special guest: local deejay, DJ Cam is going to be DJing a full 30-minute set after our nightly cheer — all to benefit our good friends at FLAG {Front Line Appreciation Group} of Hoboken + Jersey City.

The first week we did it, we raised over $2000 to FLAG in just 30 min and the second week we did it, we raised $5,000 in 6o min!

Can we beat our record for money raised this week in an hour?

Donate to FLAG on Venmo with the subject line “HG Dance Party” @FLAG_HBKN_JC between now and Saturday at 8PM.

How It Will Work:

1. Donate to @FLAG_HBKN_JC on Venmo with the subject “HG Dance Party” and then comment on our IG post once it goes live on the feed to request a song and tag your friends to join.

2. Then at 6:55PMish on Saturday night {or right at 7PM!}, sign on to Instagram and head to our @thehobokengirl feed and click our LIVE to join the party – where DJ Cam will be spinning live at 7:00-7:30PM. Do your normal cheer at 7PM, and then enjoy a little in-house dance party via your phone/tablet/laptop on Instagram.

Song Requests {for a Cause!}

Our 4/18 song will be “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons for everyone to play from their windows and balconies, and then after that DJ Cam will be taking requests and spinning some tracks for the next 30 minutes for all to enjoy on our Instagram Live here.

If you want to make a song request, we only have one request for you — to donate to FLAG Hoboken + Jersey City!  Venmo them @FLAG_HBKN_JC or click here to donate via PayPal to Paypal.me/flaghbknjc.

It will be an honor system to donate + request, but we hope this encourages you to donate to this amazing organization serving our local heroes.

We may not be able to get to all song requests, but know we’ll do our best!

About FLAG Hoboken + JC

FLAG is a local organization that was started by local resident Lisa Farrell in direct response to COVID-19, and is a group of dedicated locals who are facilitating purchasing meals from local businesses in our area and delivering them directly to first responders and Hoboken/Jersey City medical centers + healthcare workers.

To date, they have helped dozens of local first responders and healthcare workers, delivering them food from local businesses — both stimulating the local economy and supporting our heroes.

Here’s an article about the FLAG mission from NJ.com.
