Antique Bar + Bakery, the hard-to-book Italian eatery and bar on Willow Avenue, has storied Hoboken roots that date back to over 100 years ago. That story, which starts with a 30-ton coal oven, is adding a new chapter to its pages — and it comes in the form of a micro-diner down the block. The owners of Antique Bar + Bakery and Antique Loft are expanding their culinary talents to the former One12 space to open a separate, all-day restaurant called ‘Antique at 112.’ This new BYOB spot is slated to serve up “cherished comfort foods” (burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs) with modern twists and allergy-friendly modifications. Antique at 112 is open now at 112 Willow Avenue and The Hoboken Girl got an exclusive inside look at what to expect. Read on to learn more about Antique at 112, the latest project coming to Hoboken from the team behind Antique Bar + Bakery.

What to Expect

Antique at 112 is taking over the 112 Willow Avenue storefront, the former home to artisan kitchen One12 Hoboken. Joe Castello, the owner of Antique Bar + Bakery and its sister event venue Antique Loft, described the Hoboken newcomer as a “sort of micro-diner,” serving breakfast and lunch items all day in a space fusing the coziness of a “grandmother’s kitchen” with edgy narratives.

The menu features “cherished” comfort foods like burgers, “sangwiches,” and Hoboken-style hot dogs with an elevated twist. For our food allergy friends, the former FOMO of Antique dinners is no longer — Antique at 112 has dairy-free and gluten-free modifications for every single item on the menu. In a conversation with HG, Joe lamented how “people who have gut health issues and can never have the same fun that everyone else does.” Now, he said, they can.

Joe was largely inspired by his daughter’s own food restrictions to create an inclusive menu for all diners. The operating philosophy for Antique at 112 is simple: “Give the people what they want.” This mantra informs the food selection even beyond its flexibility, as Joe says the upcoming menu consists of “dishes infused with [Antique’s] memories — but imagine those memories as louder, bolder, and irresistibly more.”

Antique at 112 is a funkier offshoot of its sister restaurant, bringing an “audacious offspring vibe” that blends traditional with the modern. The 112 Willow Avenue outpost has indoor + outdoor seating and is prepping to serve brunch on the weekends — and the restaurant is BYOB. As of October 30th, Antique at 112 is officially open, ready to “give the people what they want.”
