Just a week after Robert De Niro was filming locally, yet another film crew was spotted in Hoboken — but this time, it caused a bit of a local scare. Anthony David’s, located at 953 Bloomfield Street in Hoboken, is a Hoboken favorite, especially for brunch. So when ‘For Lease’ signs mysteriously appeared on the windows this week, many residents feared that the beloved business was closing down. Luckily, as it turns out, the for lease signs were actually just for a TV show. Anthony David’s announced on its Instagram that it would be temporarily closed earlier this week for filming reasons. The Hoboken Girl got word that the show being filmed was an Amazon Prime show called Shelter. Read on for what we know about Shelter.

Anthony David’s posted on Instagram to announce that it would be closing for filming Wednesday and Thursday of this week, reopening Friday, September 30th at 5PM.
The spot shut down to film an Amazon Prime show called Shelter. According to Deadline, the show is an adaptation of Harlan Coben’s Mickey Bolitar novels. It’s about a teenage boy named Mickey Bolitar living with a host of familial issues, like having lost his father, and going to a new school in New Jersey. Mickey’s life then becomes more complicated when a creepy old woman, who just might be a ghost, tells Mickey that his father isn’t actually dead at all. After a friend of Mickey’s goes missing in a way that makes him think it’s linked to his father’s disappearance, he realizes he has a serious mystery to figure out or else he might find himself in danger. The plot blends suspense, mystery, the supernatural, and thriller elements.
As for the cast, it stars Tovah Feldshuh, Jaden Michael, Constance Zimmer, Adrian Greensmith, Abby Corrigan, Sage Linder, and Brian Altemus.
So there you have it — Anthony David’s is most certainly not for lease and will be open this weekend for its usual delicious meals.
