Though it usually looks quite tempting, frolicking in the snow isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Some of us certainly don’t get a little ‘mad’ {cue english accent} if we’re stuck inside for too long. So if you prefer to stay toasty inside, here’s a list of ideas to keep you sane and entertained during one of the biggest blizzards of 2017 thus far, also known as #Snowboken.

1. Host a mimosa & pancake party.

Ummm…yes, please! What better way to beat the winter blues than with mimosas & pancakes?! Especially THESE pancakes. Shoutout to our contributor/chef extraordinaire, Casey 2 Cook, for this recipe!

1 cup of all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 egg
1 cup of milk
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
4 tablespoons of melted butter
powdered sugar, syrup, fruit, chocolate chips, jelly.. whatever toppings you desire!

1. Mix together all the dry ingredients, making sure there are no lumps.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk and vanilla until combined and smooth.

3. Carefully pour the milk mixture into the flour bowl and stir to combine. Do not over stir, some small lumps are ok! Pour in the melted butter and whip until combined and silky. Let mixture sit for 5 minutes to thicken.

4. Spray your griddle or frying pan with nonstick spray and turn up to medium high. Spoon about 1/4 cup of mix into the pan. When you see tiny bubbles form around the outside of your pancake and some in the middle, its time to flip. It will only need about 40 seconds on the other side.

2. Finally do that DIY you’ve been wanting to do.

How about DIYing this beaut’ because LOOK AT IT! While this stunner goes for about $50 bucks, you can gather supplies from Home Depot & Home Goods to make it for under $20. What have you been wanting to make?

3. Binge on some good Netflix.

Some suggestions: Jessica Jones, House of Cards, How to Get Away With Murder, Scandal, Luther, The OA, Stranger Things, and Orange is the New Black.

What are your binge-worthy recommendations?

4. Build a fort!

It doesn’t matter how old you are, building a fort is AWESOME. Grab all the blankets in your apartment, clear some space, maybe move your TV on the floor and be a kid. You deserve it.

5. Read, read, read.

Some suggestions: Daring Greatly, The Goldfinch, The Lover’s Dictionary, ANYTHING by JoJo Moyes–Me Before You {warning: have a box of tissues}, One Plus One, After You.

6. Pamper yourself.

Pick up a pretty nail polish & give yourself a mani/pedi, throw on a face mask, pour yourself a glass of wine & take a bubble bath! While you’re at it, make a face mask. It’s as easy as combining cinnamon, honey & nutmeg. It smells FANTASTIC, helps your skin and gives a feel-good exfoliation when you scrub it off. {Please test a small portion of your skin before covering your face in it—-everyone’s skin responds differently.}

7. Do we even have to say this one? Drink WINE & some more wine.

Basically.

8. Get organized & clean your apartment.

We all have that one chore we like to put off or a closet that needs some serious color coordinating. Since you’re stuck inside, use the time and get some nagging tasks done.

9. Cards Against Humanity {& board games}.

If you’re an avid Apples to Apples fan,  Cards Against Humanity will be magical. You will wince at some of the crude things these cards say but you will also laugh, uncontrollably—which is always a good thing.

10. And, if all else fails….catch up on some zZzZzs.
