Jersey City is a huge city – termed one of the “most diverse in the United States” filled with unique neighborhoods and businesses. One such neighborhood is Bergen-Lafayette — a section of Jersey City that is slowly become a hotspot destination for locals and tourists alike. It lies west-southwest of Downtown and Liberty State Park and is filled with history, new shops and restaurants, and more.

On this episode, Jen shares the news {of course!} and then sits down with Evelyn Ibarra, who has lived in Bergen-Lafayette for almost a decade and started an Instagram account called @TheFoundryGirlJC to document her journey + everyday life in Bergen-Lafayette. She shares tips, historical facts {who knew the underground railroad had a hideout here?}, places to eat/drink/hang, and even the distillery you *must* visit that is quite the hidden gem.

Then, Jen chats with Hoboken Girl beauty contributor Lexi about the coldest facial you’ll ever receive – a Cryo Facial – a mini, deep-freeze face treatment that will leave you looking brighter and younger in just a few minutes’ time.

We end with our hidden gem — a sushi spot you may not have heard of, Hudson Hero/Zero, and the non-profit you must donate to this week — the Brave Minds Project.

Episode mentions include:

Hooked JC, Ubu, The Grind, The Sport + Spine Health Center, bel0.cryotherapy, Corgi Spirits, Bluestone Lane, Alfalfa, Wheel of Fortune, Little City Books, Artichoke Pizza, Margherita’s, Frutta Bowls, Curry Up Now, Covetables, and more.
