Our pilot podcast episode has dropped — Tea on the Hudson, HobokenGirl.com’s official podcast, is live!

You can download it wherever you get your podcasts, or click here. For iPhone users, play it here.

Our founder, Jen Tripucka, is the host of the podcast — but with many guest appearances by Hoboken Girl contributors, local residents, and more. For the pilot, we’re giving you a glimpse of how some episodes may flow, but note that every week they’ll change — with different contributors on for our middle and end segments, as well as interviews with local residents, business owners, and more. The podcast is a focus on news + lifestyle and living in an urban Hudson County world.

The Pilot Episode

In every episode, you’ll get the inside scoop on news headlines from the last week or so, with this pilot episode touching upon the sitch with Airbnb in Jersey City, the newest grocery store to hit Hudson County, scooter updates in Hoboken, openings and closing — and tons more.

We’ll also be trying a new locally-brewed tea or coffee on air to share — send in your picks, and if you have a really stellar one, we might just try it on the show.

After that for the pilot episode — Jen’s answering the ever-popular question from readers:

yoga renew hoboken

Is it possible to go out in Hudson County and not drink? What activities can I do?

Then for our self care segment this week, our contributor Danielle comes on to chat with Jen about a local spa treatment you *must* try {plus our honest opinions about it — no holds barred}. This week’s focus is on om.life’s zero gravity float pods in Jersey City, and Jen shares how her experience went, which wasn’t without a few hiccups.

We wrap the episode segments up with a hidden gem to check out in Journal Square, our “awards” for Hudson Hero + Hudson Zero of the week {as you can imagine — someone doing something good and someone who is causing a bit of a stir}.

Last but definitely not least, sharing the non-profit that you should donate to this week.

And in case you’re a planner, episode 2’s focus is going to be, “Is this water safe to drink?” — where we’ll get into the nitty gritty {hopefully not literally} of drinking water here in Hudson County.
