19th Century Mansion Turned Luxury Venue
Before it became the present-day event venue, the historic Crystal Plaza, named for the estate’s many chandeliers, was originally a residential mansion. The home was built in the late 1800s by famed architect Stanford White, who was responsible for designing the Tiffany building on Fifth Avenue, the original Madison Square Garden complex, and the arch at Washington Square Park in Manhattan.
Owned and operated by four generations of the Janoff family, Crystal Plaza was completely renovated during 2020 — bringing new life and modern touches to every room of the historic property that Max Janoff opened as a venue space in 1917. The $10 million renovation brought a new, fresh vibe to every indoor + outdoor space of the estate, including amenities like a vintage barbershop, a golf simulator, impeccably-kept gardens for outdoor ceremonies, and sparkling chandeliers in almost every room. Third generation Allan + Ronni and fourth generation Max + Hunter Janoff currently oversee operations at Crystal Plaza.
While the building and grounds have since been updated to become one of the leading wedding and event spaces in the tri-state area, it still maintains the feeling of its 19th century grandeur, making it a distinct and picturesque setting for a special day.
