‘Tis the season of summer Fridays and countless weekend getaways. Get excited because not only can you enjoy the outdoors this month, but these Hudson County venues are offering a variety of music events for you to rock out with friends, family, and colleagues. From an alternative ‘80s tribute to karaoke events to dueling pianos nights, it will be a month of shows to remember. Read on to find out what live music performances are happening in Hoboken + Jersey City in June 2019:

June 1st — Jenna Mammina and Rolf Sturm at 10:00PM @ Fox and Crow

Vepo Clean

Jazz/pop singer Jenna Mammina and guitarist Rolf Sturm met in the 1990s while touring with a 17-piece rock band. Both critically acclaimed, they reconnected after almost two decades to create two CDs “Spark” in 2015 and “Begin to Dance” in 2017. The duo will perform at Fox and Crow this Saturday and you can check out more information here.

June 1st — Southern Culture on the Skids at 8:30PM @ White Eagle Hall

Formed in 1983, this three-member rock band is made up of Dave Hartman on drums, Mary Huff on bass and vocals, and Rick Miller on guitar and vocals. They’ve performed at every type of venue from North Carolina house parties to late night network talk shows. The band will showcase their newest album Bootlegger’s Choice on Saturday at White Eagle Hall. Doors open at 7:30PM and tickets are $20. For information, head here.

June 1st — Aldo’s Presents: Wave! Alternative ’80s + Beyond at 8:00PM @ FM

Aldo’s, a previous Jersey City dance club, will host an alternative 80s night in conjunction with FM Restaurant, Bar, and Lounge. The club featured all types of punk, new wave, ska, and Brit-pop until it burnt down in 2004 after a major fire. Many of Aldo’s DJs are coming back to relive the glory days. June 3rd + 5th — Piano Bar Night and Live Music at 7:00PM @ The Underground

Jersey City speakeasy bar the Underground hosts a piano bar night on Mondays where guests can get up on stage and sing their favorite tunes. A variety of live music is also offered on Wednesdays from 7:00PM-12:30PM. Be surprised with the musical genre of the night, ranging from jazz to rat pack and burlesque to pop. June 4th — Jazz Jam With Orion Turre in The Jersey City Jazz Festival at 8:00PM @ FM

In conjunction with the Jersey City Jazz Festival, check out this next jazz artist Orion Turre at FM on Wednesday for an 18 and over show starting at 8:00PM. June 7th — The Schwam at 11:00PM @ Willie McBride’s

Rock, ska, and punk band The Schwam will play at Willie McBride’s next Friday. They are heavily influenced by the Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, and Sublime, bringing together their unique talent to create albums like “Outrun the Sun.” Check them out at 11:00PM and see more information here.

June 14th + 15th — Friday Night Live + Dueling Pianos @ House of ‘Que

Every weekend House of ‘Que hosts a Friday Night Live and Dueling Pianos sing-along on Saturdays. Check out these events with a group of friends and enjoy their friendly atmosphere while singing along to everything from Don’t Stop Believin’ to your favorite Disney movies. Join the fun on Sinatra drive Fridays at 8:00PM and Saturdays with guests, the Flying Ivories at 9:00PM. For more information, head here.

June 15th — Chilltown Funk and RNB Dance Party Feat. Zapp at 8:00PM @ White Eagle Hall

This next event will have you grooving until the early morning with catchy rhythm and blues music stuck in your head. Zapp, a six-member group who’s played together since the early 1970s, will host a Chilltown Funk and RNB Dance Party later this month. June 22nd — La Beriso at 9:00PM @ White Eagle Hall

Argentinian rock band La Beriso was formed in 1998 and have recorded eight albums over the course of their career. The group is named after a well-known priest from Buenos Aires province Avellaneda. They perform at White Eagle Hall on the third Saturday of this month. Tickets range from $45 to $75 depending on the seating. For additional information, head here.

June 22nd — Karaoke Night at 10:00PM @ Iron Monkey

If you’re looking to sing your heart out and make friends with random strangers, head over to the Iron Monkey in Jersey City on Saturday nights for some of the best karaoke Hudson County has to offer. June 22nd — Strange Majik at 10:00PM @ Fox and Crow

David Pattillo and his eclectic band make up Strange Majik, a group that’s been compared to the Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Jimi Hendrix all rolled up into one. Normally on the NYC scene, the producer and composer has a two and a half year-long residency at Tribeca’s Belle Reve. Check out their performance at the Fox and Crow later this month for a night of guitar solos and backwater blues style. See more information here.

June 27th — Paul Meyers at 10:00PM @ Fox and Crow

Jazz guitarist Paul Meyers will perform at the Fox and Crow on the last Thursday of the month, showing off his incredible contemporary jazz skills. He’s also a member of New York-based Requite Trio, a group featuring two vocalists and a pianist whose debut CD “Honey + Air” was nominated for three Grammy awards in 2015. June 28th — Waylaid at 11:00PM @ Willie McBride’s

At the end of the month, Willie McBride’s will host pop, reggae, and hip hop band Waylaid. The group has five members based in Fair Lawn, NJ and takes inspiration from Nirvana and Green Day.
