Service on the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (HBLR) is suspended in both directions between the 2nd Street and Newport Stations after a vehicle collided with a train. Per a tweet from HBLR, service was suspended around noon on Thursday, March 5th.

A spokesperson for the City of Hoboken shared the following statement about the incident. “The Hoboken Police Department has responded to assist the New Jersey Transit Police Department with an ongoing investigation into a motor vehicle crash near the Second Street Light Rail track crossing at Paterson Plank Road. Paterson Plank Road is closed between Harrison Street in Hoboken and Congress Street in Jersey City due to the motor vehicle crash. Drivers are advised to use alternative routes into and out of the city until further notice. Hoboken Police Officers are on site to assist with detours.” A Hoboken Nixle alert was shared. “Drivers are advised to use alternative routes into and out of the city until further notice.”
As of 1:06PM, Paterson Plank Road has reopened, per a spokesperson for the City of Hoboken.
