After graduating from New York Medical College, Suzanne began working in an outpatient clinic in Hackensack, NJ focusing on orthopedic, post-operative rehabilitation, and sports-related injuries. It was during this time that Suzanne realized the importance of the pelvic floor when treating patients, and she discovered her passion for women’s health. She received her pelvic floor certification from Herman and Wallace and launched a pelvic floor treatment program at the orthopedic practice.

Suzanne uses her well-rounded background in orthopedic and pelvic floor physical therapy to treat each patient with an individualized, multi-dimensional treatment program. Her treatments include manual skills, therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, and biofeedback to help them reach their therapy goals.

“I highly recommend Dr. Suzanne Fuchs-Coffey from this practice for her Pelvic Floor PT services. I
worked with her prenatally and postnatally. She always makes me very much at ease, is very gentle and
her exercises are simple and effective very quickly. I highly recommend going to talk to her if you consider
working with a PT.” – says a patient.

Chiropractic Care

Dr. Michael Gazaleh, Dr. William Magill, and Dr. Vincent Porta are chiropractors at Hudson Family Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, & Acupuncture. As a team, they’ve treated thousands of Hoboken and Jersey City residents since starting Hudson Family Chiropractic and Physical Therapy. Their physical therapists, Sejal Mair, PT and Foram Patel, DPT have extensive experience in treating a wide variety of patients and use techniques + professional skills that are designed to address the specific needs of each patient.

All doctors provide conservative and gentle care, soft tissue therapy, and exercise. Chiropractic adjustments are a safe, natural, and effective tool that helps keep all the most important pieces of the body in the best possible condition.

Common Conditions Treated

Chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal issues including back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches. Some of the common conditions that are treated include:

  • Back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee pain
  • Joint pain
  • Whiplash
  • Headaches
  • Sprains and strains

None of the doctors use a “cookie-cutter” approach to chiropractic — instead, they treat patients according to their specific conditions and lifestyles.

Physical Therapy

Rehabilitation therapy is an important part of a treatment plan for many conditions. Physical Therapy is also used in helping injured workers return to the workforce, people suffering from arthritis, and people recovering from surgery.

Exercises vary and change from patient-to-patient, but the goal is always the same. The aim of a rehabilitation program at Hudson Family Chiropractic, Physical Therapy, & Acupuncture is to regain pre-injury levels in all aspects of physical fitness. A full rehabilitation and strengthening program is essential to ensure full recovery and to prevent further injury. These exercises sometimes include muscle stretching, joint mobility exercises or muscle strengthening exercises. A rehabilitation and strengthening program is essential to ensure full recovery and in order to prevent re-injuries.

Dr. Jackee Shu DAc., L.Ac., is a licensed acupuncturist in New Jersey and New York and board-certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Being diagnosed with several medical conditions while sick during a 20-year stint in corporate finance led her on a holistic healing journey. “I chose conscious eating, acupuncture, herbal formula, cupping + moxibustion as part of daily living over the conventional protocol of life-long medication for the diagnosis rendered. The added bonus of these changes was that, for the first time in 15 years, I walked through Central Park in the middle of Spring, breathing through my nose, my eyes clear, fully appreciating the scent of this urban forest, medication-free,” is how Jackee describes her journey into the holistic practice of acupuncture.

Techniques that Jackee uses include:

  • Acupuncture {with and without estim}
  • Cupping
  • Moxibustion
  • Ear seeds
  • Heat lamps
  • Nutritional counseling
  • And lifestyle changes

“We have grown organically and tremendously over the last 20 years and I truly believe it’s because we give people what they crave, and that’s individualized healthcare. You’re treated like a person, not a number who gets assigned a cookie-cutter treatment program to maximize profit. That’s not what we’re about. We don’t track stats in our office – we track the most important thing when it comes to healthcare and that’s patient progress,” says Dr. John Rotundo, Founder, and CEO.
