Nothing gets us in the holiday spirit like decking the halls with holiday decorations. You can find plenty of great shops right here in Hoboken to create cozy, stylish, and festive designs. This year, organic nature-inspired decor with a neutral color palette seems to be the chicest way to decorate a home.

Fabulous home stores in town {like West Elm, Anthropologie, Luna Rosa, and Washington General Store} have all done a great job curating beautiful collections of garlands, ornaments, candles, and sparkly lights this year, and thanks to our guest contributor Antoinette Allande Anderson of Antoinette Allande Interiors, we’ve rounded up a few holiday decorating tips. Keep reading for some tips for stylish holiday decorating in Hoboken.

Tip 1: Bring Outdoor Green Indoors

You can create your own organic, eclectic, and collected design by bringing the outdoor greens in and layering them with lots of glowing candles and twinkling lights. Plants are a great way to help us chill out and finally relax in this busy and bustling town.

Tip 2: Cover the Tree Stand Base

It’s an absolute must to conceal the unattractive tree stand at the base of any Christmas tree. You can use a rattan basket or a charming little sweater knit basket like the one displayed in the image above. This one was purchased at West Elm. Sparkly LED starry lights, whitewashed wood garland, and gold ornaments are all you will need to achieve this elegant and minimalist tree look.

Tip 3: Decorate Your Bedroom

We all tend to spend more time in the best-designed rooms in our home.  The holidays should not be limited to our entertaining spaces. Try peppering your bedrooms with a little holiday cheer, too. Hang a wreath over your bed and string some pretty lights. Add layers and texture to your bed for a cozy winter look with chunky textiles.

Tip 4: Decorate Your Kitchen

The real holiday magic happens in the kitchen. It is essential to have a beautiful table set for guests to enjoy. There are so many gorgeous plates and tabletop accessories available at  Anthropologie and  Luna Rosa. Flowers, branches, and candles really make the table special. The dried flowers shown in this image are also from Anthropologie, and a little citrus added into a bowl looks fetching. The green garland festooned around the windows in this image was purchased from the seasonal Hoboken tree market at 6th and Willow.
