We always love celebrating local achievements in Hoboken, and there is now news of another. Hoboken High School has announced the Class of 2026 Valedictorian, Samantha Gotimer, and Class of 2026 Salutatorian, Hannah Morley. The two students are being recognized for their academic excellence and impact on the school’s community. About the Class of 2026 Valedictorian: Samantha Gotimer
Samantha Gotimer was announced as the Class of 2026 Valedictorian, recognized for being an exceptional scholar-athlete and leader at Hoboken High School. She was praised for earning High Honors every marking period while participating in one of the school’s most rigorous academic programs, with a passion for
political science, law, and history.
Samantha served as the lead attorney on Hoboken High School’s Mock Trial team, securing a county championship in the process. She also earned Outstanding Attorney recognition at the Princeton Moot Court competition, finishing in 4th place out of the event’s 170 participants. She was also recognized for her athletic achievements, as the captain of the varsity cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track teams since her sophomore year. Samantha was known for breaking seven school records, earning several All‐County honors, and being chosen for the Overall MVP for Track and Field award in both her freshman and sophomore years of high school.
Some of her service commitments included coaching middle school athletes, volunteering with Girls on the Run, completing over 100 hours of community service, and earning the Innerview Ambassador Award.
Samantha will continue her pursuit of education at Northwestern University, in its Political Science degree program.
About the Class of 2026 Salutatorian: Hannah Morley
Hannah Morley was announced as Hoboken High School’s Class of 2026 Salutatorian, being honored for her academic achievements, leadership, artistic excellence, and service. She was part of one of the school’s most rigorous academic schedules, excelling in Advanced Placement and honors coursework, and was especially recognized for her engagement and excellence in the AP Japanese course. As stated by Hoboken High School in a press release, “her fluency and dedication to independent study showcased her intellectual curiosity and global perspective.” Hannah previously attended school in Japan and was praised for her unique global perspective.
Hannah was also a member of the school’s Mock Trial, Debate, Model UN, and Model Congress teams, where she embraced significant roles and impressed other students and advisors with her confidence, diligence, and thoughtful engagement in conversations. She also notably starred in the school musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, where she earned a MainStage performance at the International Thespians Festival, a first‐place finish in STANJ’s Musical Theatre Ensemble, and honors at the Hudson County Teen Arts Festival.
Hannah was also Treasurer of the AAPI Culture Club, as well as an active member of the Student Government, National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society. She also served as an online SAT tutor and earned the Innerview Honor Award for completing over 60 hours of community service in a single year.
Hannah will continue school at the University of Cambridge, pursuing a degree in Law.
