Back in April, PATH announced that NYC-bound PATH trains would not stop at the Grove Street PATH station for several weekends beginning Saturday, April 6th, and continuing through June 30th, 2024. Now, since the rehabilitation project was completed ahead of schedule, trains will no longer bypass the Grove Street PATH station beginning on Saturday, June 22nd. Read on for what we know about the now-completed project.
The Details

Due to this construction, World Trade Center- and 33 Street-bound trains did not stop at Grove Street Station for most weekends between April 6th and June 22nd from 6AM Saturday to 11:59PM Sunday, requiring customers to take detours for service to that station.
It was originally announced that the closures would take place through the weekend of June 30th. On Friday, June 21st, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced via a press release that the work was completed ahead of schedule, and the PATH would begin stopping at the Grove Street station again starting on Saturday, June 22nd.
PATH provided a free on-call shuttle service for the ADA community from Grove Street Station to Newport or Exchange Place stations and from Journal Square Station to Grove Street Station. Travelers could call 703-297-7135 to request the shuttle.
Shuttle pick-up locations:
- Grove Street Station: The shuttle picked up at the bus shelter on the corner of Christopher Columbus Drive and Grove Street, and dropped passengers off at Newport or Exchange Place stations.
- Journal Square Station: The shuttle picked up at Journal Square Transportation Center’s Kiss n’ Ride zone on Summit Avenue, and dropped passengers off at Grove Street Station.
New Jersey-bound riders were still be able to access the Grove Street Station during these weekends. Weekday service was not be impacted.
