About the Spot
If there is one thing we love here in Hoboken, it’s our food — and we are always ready to welcome a new spot. Akihi Bubble Tea, a popular New Jersey-based bubble tea chain, expanded its footprint with a brand new storefront on Washington Street earlier this month. The Hoboken location brings Akihi’s signature drinks and sweets to the Mile Square and is another delicious option to satisfy our sweet tooth.
What’s on the Menu?
Akihi’s menu is packed with handcrafted teas made from real fruit and ingredients, plus an indulgent mix of sweet and savory food options. Think tater tots, takoyaki, ice cream, etc. — all served in a cozy, comforting space.
The drinks, of course, are the main attraction. And when we tried it out, these were some of our favorites:
- Brown Sugar Brulee – Creme Brulee on top with brown sugar milk or milk tea.
- Mango Slush – Fresh mango slush with strawberry popping boba
- Deluxe Waffle –Egg waffle with soft ice cream
- Crispy Chicken + Waffle Fries – The ultimate savory combo

The interior space reflects the motto with a thoughtfully curated design that feels cozy and spacious, calm and welcoming, with a zen aesthetic that incorporates natural wood elements, soft lighting, and low-to-the-ground furniture seating.
If you are planning to stay for a little while, there is more to enjoy with board games like Jenga and Qwirkle, making it a fun spot for a little friendly competition over a delicious treat.
