We love a good skincare or wellness treatment here at The Hoboken Girl — it’s a great way to treat yourself and have your skin feeling amazing for the rest of the summer. One of our favorite local spots for all things wellness is NJ Acupuncture Center, located at 550 Newark Avenue Suite 201 in Jersey City — and 930 Kennedy Boulevard in Bayonne. Back in June, this acupuncture go-to was just debuting its BODYsculpting and FACEsculpting treatments — but today, we’re here to tell you about all of the treatments NJ Acupuncture Center has to offer (and yes, we have tried all of them). Read on to learn more about NJ Acupuncture Center and all of the beauty and wellness treatments you can treat yourself with in Jersey City or Bayonne.
New Treatments As of June 2023
The BODYsculpt treatment is a customized, signature, experience at NJ Acupuncture Center that combines powerful sculpting and contouring treatments into one results-driven session.
This 5-phased treatment is especially recommended for those looking to drop inches, tighten and contour their bodies in an efficient, non-invasive way.
● Lymph massage
● Wood therapy
● Gua sha
● Electric muscle stimulation
● Ultracavitation Radio Frequency OR Cryotherapy (depending on your needs!)
BODYsculpt has been seen (firsthand, by us!) to get rid of bloat, increase circulation, help with lymphatic drainage, tighten + tone, and show muscle definition.
Team thoughts: We LOVED it! Instantly felt a difference in bloating, circulation, and boy was that wood therapy amazing! It’s definitely intense, so make sure you’re ready for it — but we absolutely loved it and saw results virtually immediately.
The FACEsculpt treatment is a customized, signature, experience at NJ Acupuncture Center that combines some of its most powerful facial sculpting and contouring treatments into one results-driven session. (Results are immediate, though multiple sessions are recommended!)
This 5-phased treatment is especially recommended for those looking to define their facial features, reduce bloat or puffiness, and look and feel refreshed.
- Facial lymphatic massage (for drainage and overall slimming)
- Gua sha (sculpts and de-puff)
- Face cupping (plumping and improves circulation)
- Mask and infrared lights (targets wrinkles)
- Radiofrequency or cryo-treatment (tightens and tones)
This is like a facial on *steroids* — not only did it drain puffiness, but also was such a treat with 5 different types of modalities all in one facial.
It’s worth noting: BODYSculpt and FACESculpt should not be performed if you are pregnant, have a serious injury, are still healing from surgery, if you have certain medical conditions including clotting or bleeding disorders, skin infections, or active open wounds. Following BODYSculpt treatment, some patients may experience skin sensitivity, soreness or some bruising/marking. This should all subside in a few days.
Price: $325 per session, $1350 for 5 sessions
Other Popular Treatments
NJ Acupuncture Center provides treatments that are customized to the needs of each client. No two individuals are alike so the technicians emphasize the importance of a well-balanced body and mind in a personal way. From pain management to fertility solutions, there are so many things you can treat when you visit.
Acufacials to Clear the Complexion
Patients can ditch synthetic solutions in the search for younger-looking skin, thanks to acupuncture. Tiny acuneedles are used in acufacials, a painless way to enhance and clear your complexion, fight signs of aging, and give a more relaxed yet lifted look. The needles work to boost collagen production, which plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Using proper techniques, acupuncture can increase blood flow to the ovaries, providing the optimal conditions necessary to improve egg quality, increase follicle count, and promote successful implantation. Acupuncture can help both men and women in their infertility struggles, also helping in cases of low sperm count or motility issues.
The Power of Massage
Often used as a complementary therapy to acupuncture, the power of massage is undeniable. In traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture and massage together are called Tui Na. Patients who use this combination can find stress and pain relief, increased mobility, improved sleep, and more.
An ideal way to drain toxins from your body, manual lymphatic drainage is a type of massage that encourages natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart.
The innovative technology used in Cryo Slimming is now available at both NJ Acupuncture Center locations. This non-invasive method alternates between using warm and cold treatments applied directly to the skin to break down fat cells. Treatments are typically provided every two weeks and clients can see results right away, with the best results achieved after 4-8 sessions.
Weight Loss + Lymphatic Drainage
Scientists have found that acupuncture and weight loss are related in the way that acupuncture treatments can help to reduce leptin, the hormone which regulates fat storage, and increases ghrelin, the hormone which controls meal initiation. Coupled with a lymph drainage massage, and you’re golden. Additional findings have concluded that acupuncture for weight loss also helps in liver functionality.
Cupping Helps Immunity + Digestion
Cupping helps to decrease muscle tension while refreshing blood flow, which, in turn, helps relieve pain and facilitate healing. Cupping can also help with immunity and digestion. A typical cupping session lasts about 45-60 minutes.
Acupuncture for Anxiety
Acupuncture can relieve feelings of anxiety and depression, which may be serious handicaps for people trying to cope with difficult domestic, social, and work problems. Acupuncture decreases heart rate, lowers blood pressure, increases energy, and promotes tissue regeneration.
A Solution to Migraines
Chronic migraines can lead to further issues like anxiety and depression. Before resorting to harsh pharmaceuticals, it’s important to investigate other options that might help. Acupuncture sessions specifically targeted to treat pain within the head can help reduce the pain and frequency of migraines and headaches.
Relief from Chronic Pain
Most of us experience some level of tension in the neck and shoulders and some even deal with chronic pain disorders. In order to find true balance and wellness, acupuncture alleviates that tension and offers pain relief so patients can live a healthy lifestyle. In some cases, acupuncture has proven to be as effective as prescription medications. By restoring Qi and targeting the root cause of pain, endorphins are released and inflammation is reduced, leaving patients feeling tension-free.
Relief from Allergy Symptoms
The change in seasons often brings about an increase in pollen, mold, and other allergens which can cause sneezing, sniffling, itchy eyes, and headaches. Acupuncture can help lessen the effects of inflammation and pain caused by allergies, giving your immune system the boost it needs to get back on track.
Few things are as frustrating as struggling to sleep. Thankfully, acupuncture treatment has been linked to improved sleep and has also been shown to help treat insomnia. When acuneedles are inserted into specific points of the body, they stimulate circulation while easing pain, giving patients a solid night’s sleep.
Natural Stress Relief
To help combat the unique stressors you experience in life, acupuncture works to help calm the central nervous system and release endorphins — the brains natural “feel good” chemicals. Following a consultation with the provider, they will customize a treatment and begin inserting acuneedles into the corresponding areas to promote stress reduction and increase relaxation.
Another Natural Remedy: CBD
Having gained recent popularity, CBD is a natural remedy used for many ailments including stress, pain, sleep problems, and more. Sourced from the marijuana plant, CBD does not contain the THC which is the “drug” component of the plant. At NJ Acupuncture Center it is used primarily for pain relief and to alleviate effects of anxiety and depression.
The HydraFacial treatment only takes 30 minutes from beginning to end. Using state-of-the-art, “vortex fusion” technology and super serums crafted with the most nourishing ingredients, clients will leave feeling and looking radiant.
