Peace out, 2017 – it’s time to leave you where you belong. This New Year’s Eve weekend in Hoboken and Jersey City has plenty in store, considering it’s the final countdown to the new year. Whether you really want to go out with a bang OR want a more lowkey sign off to 2017 that includes nothing champagne toast-related, there are plenty of options to spend the last weekend of 2017. JCTC Kids Presents Mishka Opening: Through January 13th

The children’s programming division of Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) presents an international tale bound to make any holiday season complete at Merseles Studios {339-345 Newark Avenue}. JCTC-KIDS Presents Shadow Theatre is a live, story-telling experience where fairytales, folklore and children’s literature from around the world are performed using shadow puppets – a form of puppetry that dates back to ancient times. Birch Hoboken

Proclaimed the most extravagant NYE Party in NJ, Birch Hoboken’s {92 River Street} celebration is sure to be a night for the record books. Ticket holders will have access to a 4.5-hour premium open bar {8:00PM – 12:30AM}, a gourmet dinner buffet (served from 8:00PM – 10:00PM), a champagne toast, and more. Spend the night on Hoboken’s waterfront at the Ainsworth {310 Sinatra Drive}. The Kitchen Step

Step Kitchen {500 Jersey Ave} will be serving a three-course menu that can be upgraded to include a wine pairing from their two tiers of wines. Seatings begin at 5PM and the last will be at 9:30PM. This New Year’s Eve, Talde in Jersey City {8 Erie Street} will transform into the sexy and seductive Crimson City, with music and entertainment on both floors, premium cocktails, stations and passed hors d’oeuvres. Tickets are $175 and include top shelf bar from 9:00 PM – 12:30 AM, premium hors d’oeuvres and stations, a champagne toast at midnight, and many more surprises.
