Meet Walter The Bull Terrier Mix: In Need of a Forever Home

Written by:

If you’ve ever considered getting a dog, now is the perfect time to jump on it. This scary and uncertain time can also double as an amazing opportunity to adopt a pup who needs a forever home. You’ll have plenty of time to focus on training and give your new friend all the attention (s)he deserves while you WFH together. Your new buddy will be sure to keep you occupied and feeling all the love.

Right now, Hudson Haven Dog Rescue is searching for a home for one of its senior fosters, Walter. Whoever decides to adopt this sweet little guy will not only be adding a new friend to their home, but also helping a pup in need.

Walter has some limitations on his mobility — he can walk, but it is believed he has nerve damage in his backside, making it a bit more difficult to get around + impossible for him to climb stairs. He drags his front paws and needs to be walked on soft ground or grass. Walter’s ideal forever home would be one with carpets or rugs.

Walter needs a loving home to comfortably live out the remainder of his years, since he was abandoned by his previous owners, tied to a pole, and left to fend for himself.

While it seems someone nearly cut his little ears off, he is a beautiful boy — his markings are so unique, and when he looks at you with those old man eyes it’s sure to melt your heart.

Walter is very affectionate and does not let his disabilities stop him from moving as quickly as possible right into your lap for some love. When he wants something, he will surprise you with his ability to move. He also uses his low, distinguished bark to let you know when he wants something from you — this guy’s got a lot of spunk.

Walter needs someone willing to be patient with him, someone that will be ok with carrying him when he gets too tired, someone who will give him his food + water in small doses throughout the day to make sure he doesn’t eat too fast.

Walter just needs a comfy place to lay his head and relax, where he is loved and cared for. If you think that place is your home, send an email now to hudsonhavendogrescue@gmail.com and request an application. The wonderful staff over at Hudson Haven Rescue will get back to you right away with the applications + info on how to proceed. For any questions please call: (201)240-1548. Check out Walter’s Petfinder page to learn more about him and see his adorable videos and pictures.
