3 Valentine’s Day Cocktail Recipes That Are Sure to Impress

Roses are red, violets are blue, poems are hard…. COCKTAILS! There’s something sweet about crafting a specialty cocktail for those you love right at home. Whether with your besties or significant other, these cocktails are sure to make for a festive Valentine’s Day treat. That’s why local cocktail enthusiast @JerseyDrinks is serving up three recipes to take your Valentine’s Day weekend to the next level. And hey, who said these recipes can’t work for Game Day this Super Bowl Sunday? Mix up a pitcher of the first spritz-style recipe and we’re sure your guests will be extra glad they came. Read on to learn how to make these fun cocktails.

Sparks Flying (Serving Size: 2)

Ingredients:

3 oz Ketel One Grapefruit Botanical
1 ½ oz fresh lemon juice
2 oz Rose raspberry puree
Q Club Soda

Garnish:

Dried Rose petals
Lemon wheel

Directions:

Add the first three ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a wine glass filled with ice. Top with club soda and gently stir. Garnish with dried rose petals or lemon wheel.

For Rose raspberry puree: combine one cup of fresh raspberries, ¾ cup white sugar, and 1 cup of rose in a blender and pulse until all are combined. Strain out seeds (optional) and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for three weeks.

Spicy Valentine (Serving Size: 2)

Ingredients:

4 oz Blanco/Silver Tequila
2 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz. agave syrup
1 prickly pear, peeled
6-8 jalapenos, sliced/deseeded
Tajin salt
Lime, cut into a wedge

Garnish:

Lime wheel

Directions:

First, rim glass with a lime wedge and dip in tajin salt to coat, set aside. Add agave prickly pear (you can buy these at ACME on Clinton, or sub with strawberries) and jalapenos to the bottom of a cocktail shaker and muddler. Add remaining ingredients with ice and shake well. Strain into tajin-rimmed glass over fresh ice, and garnish with a lime wheel.

Strawberry XO Martini (Serving Size: 2)

Ingredients:

4 oz vodka
1 oz. chocolate liqueur (Godiva)
1 oz. cream liqueur (Amarula Cream)
2 strawberries, cut into slices
Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle, crushed up into fine powder crumbs

Garnish: 

Edible heart confetti (optional)

Directions:

Dip the rim of the martini glasses in chocolate syrup and then coat in finely crushed brownie brittle crumbs, set aside. Add strawberries and chocolate liqueur to the bottom of your shaker and muddle. Add remaining ingredients with ice & shake well. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with edible heart confetti.read more button
